Do you cuddle your hose? Be honest, now

Post by pootsie » Sun Jan 05, 2014 2:59 pm

I've had a few months of CPAP; I started in May and am deeply grateful to the members here for the help

At first I had adjustment to getting my hose in place.

Then I found that I would hold it all night just to make things easy

I got used to holding it

The hose is now a comfort accessory. I think I may be cuddling it.

How about you? Do you hold on to it? Or softly nuzzle it? Be honest, now...

All good hoseheads need security hoses to sleep with, didn't you know that?

But,..............it's NEW.

Actually, since I don't use heated humidity, I route the hose under the covers and along/under my body to help warm up the air before it gets to the mask. Works pretty good for me.....not necessarily warm but warmer than the room air.
But, I really don't consider it "cuddling".

It has a nice fleece hose cover. I do end up holding it -- not sure it rates a "cuddle" or not...

What I do with my hose in the privacy of my bed is not your concern!

Oh, you meant CPAP.... Mine is draped over the headboard so I can roll over from side to side. I rarely notice it anymore. Recently got a Climateline, so sometimes before falling asleep I will check to see if it's warm. Does that count?

I don't cuddle my hose, I view it as a dance partner and dance with it all night...

I am a very active sleeper and that has forced me to perfect "the dance."

I hang my hose just a foot or so to avoid having it in the bed...

A B S O L U T E L Y !!!! I've said it before on here but as an answer to rainout When sleeping in a tent that is maybe 20 degrees, the cold air is uncomfortable, so I pull all the hose I can into the sleeping bag with me. Since I'm living on a battery and solar panel quite often, I don't use humidifier. The warmed air gives some impression that replaces the humidity. I'm also not all that sensitive to humidity for sleeping. At home, I like a room at 55-60 and again, at least when going to bed, I pull all the hose under the covers. If this is called cuddling the hose, absolutely. Every time I can!!

I use hose management to hang it high; because there is no way I'm going to touch that nasty thing in the dark!

"Hi, My name is John and I cuddle my PAP hose, though only while sleeping and not during my waking hours anymore"
Whew, it feels good to get that off of my chest, though not as good as my fleece hose cover does on it .

Seriously, I do route the hose under the covers and then it crosses over at my stomach and runs up the other side of my body to my Nasal mask. This is just how I sleep now and I don't even think about it anymore (must do the hose management on auto pilot throughout the night as it rarely, if ever, ends up on the floor).

I cuddle my hose or it cuddles me I guess. It seems easier to keep positioned if I hang on to at least part of it. It is warm(heated) and soft and fuzzy(polar fleece). I just started CPap on November 24. I thought it would be impossible. The first hose and mask(wisp) were cold and crinkly or pinched. We had a cold spell in the teens first thing and I nearly drowned in the plastic nose and woke with a freezing stuffy nose for days. I called my Doctors' office and he prescribed the heated hose. I changed the mask myself to the Sleepweaver Advance and no more drips or cold painful nose. The first night with heat and Advance mask I slept 10 hours, unheard of for me. My hose deserves to be cuddled!

I don't cuddle it per say, what I do is wrap my hands around it like I am gonna choke the life out of it.
