Got my new ResMed S9 Auto w/humidifier yesterday. Two weeks or so into CPAP use, still trying to get used to the ComfortGel nasal mask, but making fairly quick progress. I checked the data this morning, showed 5.7hrs usage, which is about right since I went to bed a little after 10 and took off the mask a little after 4 when the alarm went off.
Showed an AHI of 34 (sleep study was 70). I won't download any data into Sleepyhead or the ResMed software until I have a few days data.
I have it set in CPAP mode, 7cm, no ramp, humidifier at 2. Even though I'm only at 7cm, exhaling seems so much easier; I'll still have to play around with the EPR settings a bit to dial them in.
Any advice on settings for the S9 Auto's? The manual is very vague for the end user. I guess to us its supposed to be just a magic box.

Are you sure you're not mouth breathing once asleep? Sometimes the leak will be so large as a result, it registers as zero rather than a specific amount... and you could possibly need a different mask.

Do by any chance have an original prescription?

Pretty sure. At least my wife says I'm not snoring anymore. The S9 should log that type of leak, and I don't have any issue with dry mouth.Julie wrote:Are you sure you're not mouth breathing once asleep? Re: First Night With New Machine
No reason to wait to download data.
You are probably leaking or breathing via mouth.
If thats not the case your pressure could be too low.
I was first prescribed 8cm but now am at 12 cm.
learned that from the data.
