Re: Winx

I have never used that machine, but here are two threads (if you search there may be more) that seem to have the most information about it. Both threads were started by one of our forum members Xney who has experimented with this system and may still use it. John "Winx" machine sleep study http://ww...

Re: Nasal mask recommendations

Stevoreno_55,

I have had great results with the now older model PR Easylife nasal mask. It was the first mask I was given to try from the RT and it just worked perfect for me... though as is normally exclaimed here, YMMV .

Re: cpaptalk, iPad, and forumrunner

I haven't been on much the last couple of weeks, but I thought that the Forum hosts had done something to limit polls to a certain time frame and/or allow the creator of the poll to shut it down if desired. Looks like to me that it is just more of the same .

Re: cpap use 1 month question

I agree with icipher as I went through the same thing during the first couple of weeks. Depending on your severity and how long you have been dealing with your untreated apnea, your body probably learned to breathe very differently, maybe shallowly like I did, and just adapted to whatever method tha...

Re: Night sweating after 5 years on CPAP

After 5+ years, you suddenly start sweating? At 77, we can't blame menopause--especially if you are a guy. Better go to the doctor. This can sometimes be a symptom of chemical imbalance or even cancer. Put your glasses on Chunky...77 is the number of posts,,,not age She means SHE'S 77. Actually, 77...

Re: What were you, and what are you now?

I did a at home overnight with this http://www.healthcare.philips.com/main/homehealth/sleep/alicepdx/default.wpd and was diagnosed then with 73.8 AHI and 74% O2 desats. Now, my 30 day average AHI is 0.5, and that is including a head cold that was a challenge about 2 weeks ago. For me after many year...

Re: Big Nose!

Have you looked at the Hybrid (on e.g. Cpap.com) - doesn't go near your nose except with 'pillows'. Julie, I knew there was something else to suggest, but I could not come up with it . It must be time for some coffee or tea to get my brain working again . J D here is a link from our sponsor... http...

Re: Big Nose!

The only thing that comes to mind, other than more costly custom made masks, is a total face mask https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respironics-fitlife-total-full-face-cpap-mask-headgear.html . If you decide to go that route then you might want to do a search here first or start a new thread with Tot...

Re: Freaking Out

I would suggest that you do a few hours of TV watching while wearing your mask and the new machine. You have to persuade your subconscious once again that this a safe thing to do. +1 +1 for me as well!! In my beginning days of PAP therapy it seem that it took my mind (subconscious) longer to figure...

Re: I guess it was bound to happen...

When things like this happen and there is no logical reason that can be found, we usually blame it on the aliens . Hopefully it is an isolated incident and just one of the weird things that can occasionally happen on our PAP journey .

Wow, great intro and inspirational story. You have a lot to share, both professionally and personally . I hope you stay around and get pulled into our little world. Like PAP therapy, this place has been essential to my successful sleep and health improvements . In my opinion, this place and the wisd...

Re: Morning #1 and I'm more tired than ever. Can anyone relate?

You can change your settings. Get a clinical manual, but educate yourself first, understand the pros and cons of the adjustments BEFORE changing the settings. I would suggest you keep what you have and certainly give it time. Your body is probably askin' "What the heck do you have on my face?... ta...
