Re: My first forgetful night.... oh, boy.
I always wait until I get tired before I go to bed and I always mask up before my head hits the pillow. I am so new to this that I don't need to remember what the pre-CPAP days were like... real BAD! Teknomom, I use the ramp feature on my machine for 20 min. (ramp up from 8 cmH2O to my min. treatmen...

Re: Help! Sneezing like crazy. Irritation from nasal mask.
Judy, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. You certainly have a lot on your plate. OSA/Sleep disorders are bad enough on their own without adding other medical issues on top of it. Though I can't imagine the daily struggles that you must deal with, I still feel strongly that some perspective ...

Re: Help! Sneezing like crazy. Irritation from nasal mask.
Judy, I feel like a cpap failure. You are not a failure until you quit, give up, throw in the towel... As long as you keep trying you remain a strong & courageous person doing their best with a real life changing situation. Remember this is probably a life long journey for you, and that's alright. Y...

VVV,
Done!
You didn't mention a time for the surgery (perhaps she didn't say or you don't know), but I will try to remember to take her before the throne a few more times today. May Gods comforting, healing hand be with her and her family through this difficult time.

Re: Too complicated in the middle of the night
The only thing I want to add to the above suggestions of leaving the mask on and detaching the hose is that I also have added a quick coupler from CPAP.com to make removing the hose from my Humidifier a lot easier. The coupler comes off of the Humidifier outlet elbow with just a twist whereas using ...

Re: What is that sound & How do I fix it?
cpap_user_29, Welcome! I agree with Mary Z’s assessment. I had a similar experience with a System One Humidifier because I filled the water reservoir too high. I also used to get a lot of condensation in the hose because of our house being cooler than the air coming out of the humidifier (our winter...

Re: cm pressure question
Starlette, Yeah, I am very visual too! It is funny, when you explain a thought or feeling to someone who isn’t visual, you can almost hear the crickets as they try to make sense of it all. Everybody processes things in different ways When I was writing the post to you above it reminded me of the sto...

Re: cm pressure question
Starlette, For what it is worth... A very wise Hose head on this forum (there are quite a few!), in one of the many posts/threads I have seen over the last 18 or so days of exploring everything I can explore, said that they felt that any changes made to any part of our CPAP set-ups (machines, machin...

Re: CPAP Broke
jenn52. This might be a long shot, but do you know anyone here at the forum or some immediate family or friend, who is close enough to where you live and might have a machine you could borrow for a couple of nights? Anyone who is a CPAP user and has had any success at all in their treatment would to...

Re: Washing the hose and Drying it
Yeah, I'm learning here that it is good to have back ups of everything possible. Who wants to miss having good sleep because of break/damage, etc... I feel now like I have had to endure over 15 years of bad sleep, so now I want the good sleep from this point on! I never want to go back for even one ...

Re: Washing the hose and Drying it
wmcanally, I am not totally sure, but it might do as you say and measure as a leak. One suggestion from someone here (I don't remember who) was to use a older machine to dry the hose out, if you have one. I only have the one machine so I just do the 'lasso' swing/move to get most of the H20 out and ...

Re: cm pressure question
DoriC, You are correct. According to this excerpt from CPAP.com on the PR System One Machine page: System One Resistance Control Respironics wanted a machine to achieve optimal pressure no matter which mask is used. Resistance Control is the solution, a numbering system on all of Respironics CPAP ma...
