Re: Is CPAP making things worse for me?
On the positive side, Yesterday, I went into one of the local pharamacies that sells CPAP equipment, and found out they actually have a service to look over CPAP data (for my actual brand of machines, one was right in front of me in the display.). The lady suggested that since I have a full auto ma...

Re: CPAP the next generation
I'd like to see the next generation machine have a small inbuilt microphone and record audio whenever the machine is on. It would make it a lot easier to correlate major disturbances with flow data and events. For instance, if I notice a major leak, I could just say something to make a note about it...

Re: Barrel cozy for Swift FX causing leaks
Thanks Karen. I'll try trimming the cozy a little and see if that helps.

Re: Barrel cozy for Swift FX causing leaks
Thanks everyone for your replies. It looks like the cozy either works or doesn't depending on how lucky you are. The barrel cozy shouldn't interfere with the seal because it does not come between your nostrils and the pillow. That's what I thought would have been the case. Are you sure that you pull...

Barrel cozy for Swift FX causing leaks
The last few nights I have tried using Padacheek's barrel cozy for the Swift FX pillows mask, because the silicone of my Swift FX pillows has been resting on my upper lip and that was a little uncomfortable. Although they felt much nicer, the pillows didn't seal properly with the barrel cozy on. I t...

Old Lasinoh
I keep a tube of Lasinoh at my son's house near Denver for when I visit. I bought it shortly after joining this forum so it's a few months hold, but not years old. Previously, it's been rather supple and easy to get out of the tube. This trip, it's very viscous and extremely hard to get out. It seem...

Re: Higher Alitude any changes needed
I haven't used your machine, but clicking through your icon to the CPAP.COM website, and clicking on specs, and then on "additonal features", it says it does automatic altitude adjustment. There will be some limit to that, but it will be somewhere in the 8000 - 10000 feet range, far higher than El P...

Re: New User Can't keep mask on all night
Hi Charles, Welcome to the forum and unfortunately to the land of hoseheads as well. Having troubles keeping the mask on all night is a generic issue that many newbies face. You're not used to sleeping with this strange mask and hose attached to your face, and having air pumped into your nose. You'r...

Re: Taking Naps with the mask
I always wear mine for naps. If I have a nap, it's because I'm pretty exhausted and can't get by without one. That's exactly when my Apneas are likely to be bad, and about the worst condition I could be in to cope with them. (Not that any condition particularly lends itself to "suffocating" myself i...

Re: Need Technical Help
What machine do you have? That would let us know if these are unintentional or total leak rates. If it records efficacy data, you can look at it to see exactly what's going on. If you're taking the mask off while the machine is running, and the hybrid mask allows a higher airflow that would explain ...

Re: CPAP use on overnight flights
I'm planning a trip to Italy over the holidays, and am reading this thread with interest. I hadn't planned to try to use my CPAP it in flight, and am reassured to know that sleeping upright may help mitigate apneas. What I am wondering about is getting to carry it onboard uncounted as my allowed ca...

Re: Things to think about when looking for your first CPAP mask
Thanks for the post Java. Lots of great info there. One thing I'd like to add is that getting from an okay mask fit to a great mask fit often takes a number of little custom personalizations. For instance, when I first tried pillows they were okay. They delivered air, let me sleep alright on my side...
