They Dressed Like Groucho

You could say, with partial plagiarism: It was the best of nights. It was the worst of nights.

Although I never quite found Groucho Marx to be as funny as my dear dad did, I took pleasure as a boy in seeing just how much enjoyment my dad got watching "You Bet Your Life" and I was fascinated by seeing just how relaxed and amused he became, watching that show and what I mistakenly thought of at the time as a rather corny comedian.

"When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years. " - Mark Twain

"By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he's wrong. " -Charles Wadsworth

(My first "OT")

Best regards, Nate

Ain't that the truth... of course, goes for moms and daughters too.

Always thought Groucho was the best. I especially loved his eyebrows!

I would have never admitted it then... but my dad gave me the best advice. I took it and I am so grateful for it. I really miss him.

And therefore it was so important that you made that comment?
