Re: Melatonin

Anyone have a view on Melatonin ? I've got the breathing part of my sleeping well under control. Waking after a few hours - and then fragmented sleep thereafter seems to be my biggest problem at the moment. I've been thinking about ordering one of the sustained- release melatonin caps - via eBay or...

Re: New to Apap ...am I all set?

If your pressure needs are never above "12 or 13" the machine will not rise above 12 or 13. On the rare chance that you would need a very high pressure - ...

Re: New to Apap ...am I all set?

I guess I need some reassurance that apap, new hose and mask, will make me feel ok again tommorrow, that Im banking on that the old pressure wasnt enough, and without a new sleep study, this will do the trick for me. Only people who say yes are allowed to reply !!! Not likely. You have to use the d...

Re: apap starting range

Start at min 8 max 20. I am assuming you have the software. Let us know what your detail looks like the next morning. If leaks are under control but you still have events then the min pressure should be titrated upwards always checking the detail report each day. If you have no or few events you can...

Re: Newly diagnosed, newly on CPAP, need some support

And when on CPAP you're not breathing room air, you're getting your air flow from the machine. Sorry that is room air that has been run through a filter or two and a little fan. I am in a climate where it is very hot in July and August and the air conditioning runs almost continuously some nights b...

Re: Great Sleep Center / DME in New Mexico

They probably did b/c they were afraid that otherwise you would have gone to Dr. Barry Krakow's place in Albuquerque, which is best in the country. Thank you for the link and the unusual feedback. This type of provider is very uncommon. (I wonder if Dr Krakow keeps them all in line.) Sometimes I fe...

Do you need the humidifier at all? My experience was that the air in Houston is very humid. I don't use my humidier. Too much humidity will sometimes cause swelling in the nasal passages.

Don't forget your 40-year question. It applies to MADs (mandibular advancement devices) as well as CPAP.

I can't imagine a MAD for forty years.
