Re: Vegetarian Diets More Harmful to Environment

I love the subject line. Vegetarian diets are also hard on the person too.
Flame away.

Re: How important is a heated hose?

Do you travel? If so you might find that you are in places where the temperature is much colder.
Having a heated hose helps keep condensation to a minimum. Nothing is worse than water spilling into your nose at 2am.

My $0.02 worth of advice.

It definately helped. The reflux was an issue for me but areophagia was much worse.
Best wishes for you. I know what you are going through.

No magnetic ring for me. Insurance would not cover it.

Re: Many issues resolved all at once (New mask and surgery)

Recovery is different for many people. For me the most pain I had was my throat. The breathing tube left its mark. Other than that, the incisions healed rapidly and I used a lower level pain reliever for a week. The pain reliever was mostly used for the throat pain. I had to be on a liquid diet for ...

Many issues resolved all at once (New mask and surgery)

Hey folks. It has been a long time since my last post. I bought a Respironics DreamWear mask this October to replace my aging nasal mask. This really helped. The leaks have pretty much gone away. My older nasal masks leaked quite often. On the older mask, a leak when sealed puts a lot of pressure on...

Re: Non existent Doctor follow up

After diagnosis, I have never seen my polmonologiest again. I emailed him a few times with readings to see if the numbers were good. No interest on the medical doctor's side. That was five years ago. I keep my primary doctor away of the cpap treatment, but that is it. I would rather have it that way...

I wish that i had uncovered that battery box years ago. It is awesome. I think it will fit the most deep cycle batteries.

Re: No Power.....Ugh!!

If you can, get a deep cycle battery and a battery box. Make sure that you get a power cable that is thick enough to support the start up current of the machine. Turn off your humidifier and run it in pass over mode. All of this will only work if your machine is a 12 volt powered device. I have used...

Re: Tap Pap Rainout Issues

I am a lot like you. The room needs to be cool to sleep. Nothing is worse than waking up with excessive heat. Just having a heated hose is not a complete fix to condensation issues. Having a heated hose and a cover over the heated hose in a cold room (15 c / 60 f), will still result in some condensa...

Re: Do you cuddle your hose? Be honest, now

Always cuddle the hose on a camping trip where it will be cold at night. Doing so heats the air going into your lungs. Trust me, it sucks waking up with very cold air blasting into your nose. Cuddle the hose when under the stars at night.

Sleep apnea can be caused by issues with your upper airway and might have nothing to do with weight.

Re: My journey to treat Upper Airway Resistance (and bruxism)

Check out the Tap Pap mask. I am on my second night tonight. It may help with the bruxism. I too used the swift fx. I had the same symptoms and diagnosis (UARS). Same low events too. I rarely go above 5 or 6 on the pressure. Sometimes that is all you need to open the upper airways. It sure will feel...

Re: TAP PAP arrived today

I got mine yesterday. I used it last night. It was nice. I woke up and needed to loosen the fit on the mouthguard. It was pushing against one of my teeth too hard. It is better now. I shall look forward to using it again. I am not using the staps or the chin strap. It seems like nothing is there. I ...
