Re: Anomaly- Stopped Using my CPAP

I've never slept normally without CPAP. I seriously doubt it's a "learning" issue.

But do you feel better than before CPAP?

Maybe use Sleepyhead software to help analyze your data and patterns. Recovery does take time for most people.

Re: First night of CPAP

Sounds like my first couple nights. There's a lot to get used to. But with an AHI of 3 you've already hit the mark. Stay with it!

Suggestion: List your equipment in your signature. We wanna know!

Re: mouth breathers with nasal masks

Isn't it the concept of CPAP that if you breathe properly through the nose your mouth won't drop open and contribute to snoring? Maybe a good adjustment is in order.

Re: Took to CPAP like a fish takes to water

I'm coming up on year too and took to it right away. I still find "masking up" every night to be comforting and fall asleep in mere minutes, something I couldn't do most of my life. Yeah, I still make mistakes -- nap without it, pull it off at night -- but overall I'm waaay better off. My new wife c...

Re: Effects of quitting smoking on CPAP therapy

I need to get myself to a point where I can rationally quit Then you may be in the wrong discussion board. You might look at what you spend on smokes on a monthly basis and compare that to the cost of breaking the habit. With cigarette prices where they are these days, if you can afford to smoke yo...

Define "we".

Ok, your GERD is bigger than mine.

'Nuff said.

Re: Cough/crud/... in the morning ?

I'm a long-time GERD sufferer. You don't cough up crud in the morning. You puke up burning bile whenever. There's a difference. My guess is OP is coughing up crud because of improved breathing and the lungs are better stimulated to purge that crud You breathe deeper and better while on CPAP. This wa...

If it's too noisy then you have a bad fit or old equipment.

Re: Water Distillers?? It's time! Your recomendations please

I did the math and convenience analysis. Much cheaper and easier to buy an occasional gallon of distilled water from the drug store for $1.25/gallon than to have yet another appliance parked on the kitchen counter consuming power and my attention.

Fluoride, however, is another discussion.

On my night stand. Roughly the same height as my bed. Hose loops up and around the bedpost and then slightly downward to the mask.

I think so as long as the thickness is correct.
