Re: OT - Took a Nasty Fall

Well I'm very grateful for all the suggestions and I've marked this thread for reference. I think it's quite likely I'll need one or the other of those solutions at some time in my life. Thank you James for taking the trouble to do the illustration. And finally, to Madalot, thank you for the reminde...

Re: One VERY Unhappy Camper

Hi Madalot,

While I agree with the others that you should go now I also know that if if was me I probably wouldn't. (Have I mentioned that I'm sometimes more stubborn than smart? ) Thinking of you. Please keep us posted - and be willing to change your mind if things change.

From inside the van he's absolutely adorable! I'm trying to decide if I'm jealous or or maybe not.... Until now I thought the deer in my driveway tonight was as cute as it got.

Re: mischief cat and gray filter sponge

Now that I think of it I'm amazed my cat has never done this. The filter on my old respironics is just sitting there waiting for a delicate cat claw to hook it out. And it's exactly the size and shape she finds irresistable. Perhaps I don't clean it enough for her liking. I'll make sure she's not wa...

Re: Camping this weekend!!!

My experience is that the inside of tents tend to get wet from condensation even when it doesn't rain. And that it always rains. None of that experience I'll admit was in your part of the country. Still, you may want to take something to keep it off of the ground. I found a cheap plastic dishpan use...

Re: Teeth and CPAP

After about six years my upper teeth have shifted slightly. I mostly use a nasal mask (not pillows) and I believe it is due to the mask pressing backwards against the upper portion of the teeth under the gum line and shifting the lower portion forward.

So I just got my script from the sleep lab and they said they won't go over results w me until my machine is in but here's what the script says: RESMED auto cpap, mask of patients choice, headgear, heated humidifier, heated tubing hcpc a4604 and/ or tubing hcpc a7037, filter and supplies as needed,...

Re: Is there a mask that allows the wearer to read in bed?

I mostly use the Fisher and Paykel HC 407 nasal mask supplemented now and then by their HC 431 full face mask. I read every night wearing one or the other. Both have a center support but I found it doesn't interfere with reading. You could not easily wear glasses with either one. When I started usin...

Re: Dr. Bloomberg: Poor in pain must suffer

Not quite. Under the new city policy, most public hospital patients will no longer be able to get more than three days’ worth of narcotic painkillers like Vicodin and Percocet. Long-acting painkillers, including OxyContin, a familiar remedy for chronic backache and arthritis, as well as Fentanyl pat...

This intrigues me as well. But at this point I think privacy concerns would prevent me from doing it unless I could be anonymous. And it's not just your privacy but that of all your relatives too.

Re: Blue Cross denying all sleep disorders

Another way to look at is is how much is your time worth to fight a probably losing battle versus the cost of supplies. I can keep my costs to a little over $100. a year. Most replacement schedules are way too generous and there are a wide range of less expensive options. And finally, how much would...

Re: Recommendations for a recording oximeter

johnthomasmacdonald Long reply but nothing in it answers the question of why to buy your own recording oximeter. ??? You are playing doctor with a very poor tool. Well I'll take a stab at explaining why I'm about to buy one. After five years of use I want a check that my no data CPAP is still doing...
