Re: I'm a light sleeper and my boyfriend needs CPAP

A CPAP machine is a blessing beyond belief if you've ever tried to sleep with a person who snores. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Re: Reduction in Blood Pressure?

I wish I could remember when my blood pressure started to drop, but I can't. I know it was within a month.

Re: Help: I'm new to all of this. Here's my story.

Fairly quickly after I started CPAP, my blood pressure began dropping. It seemed impossible that it would happen so fast, but I was getting loopy when I stood up and my meds had to be adjusted. Just a thought.

Re: need some strap covers made

I measured my husband's mask tubing incorrectly. When the hose cover came we held it up to his mask and immediately saw it was too long. I emailed Karen and she was so sweet. She said to send it back and she'd send one the correct length. What a pleasure it was to deal with someone who wanted us to ...

Re: Using S9 Adapt? What's your max PS?

My max is set at 15 but the machine will override that if it thinks I'm in trouble.

Re: CPAP and Intimacy

I responded because I worried about you. I responded because I wanted you to find a person who would love the real you. I did it clumsily in the first reply and I'm still sorry. I think if you knew me in real life, you'd find I was a friend worth having, even if I'd never walked in your shoes. There...

Re: Why do we need a prescription for a face mask?

Can you get a copy of your original prescription from your doctor? If that fails, Ebay folks can't sell you a mask but they can sell you a frame, straps, nasal pillows, etc. The reason we need a prescription for a face mask is because left to our own devices, we might breathe too deeply and overdose...

Re: S9 Autoset displaying inacurate data

If you've unplugged it and you don't sleep past the "reset" time, have you looked at the clinician's menu to see what time it's showing? The clock may be wrong.

Re: CPAP and Intimacy

I sounded preachy before, and I apologize. I can't possibly understand the difficulties of introducing a partner to CPAP because I've been married since I was a kid. My husband thought I died in my sleep last spring, and he's incredibly grateful that I now live with a CPAP machine. I hate how I look...

Re: CPAP and Intimacy

Amen to those who said not to sleep with people you don't know very well. Amen also to those who said CPAP may help you find a partner with maturity, depth and compassion.

Re: Have I selected the correct machine?

I sent you a response, twice, but it looks like it's hung up in my outbox and doesn't show as "sent". This is the first time I've used PM so if you don't receive it, tell me. Thanks.

Have I selected the correct machine?

Do I have the correct machine listed here? Mine is a Resmed S9 Vpap Adapt and when I signed up here, I picked the one that looked like mine. Now I realize there are several that look the same.

I thought I might be about ready to graduate from Newbie status, but I see I still belong there.
