Thello overnight train ride from Rome to Paris

Post by tonycog » Sat Jan 10, 2015 3:30 pm

Hello all

I will be traveling to Europe next summer. One of the parts of my journey involves taking the Thello overnight train from Venice to Paris. We will be paying to upgrade to a private berth. The website says that these berths have a "220v 2-pin socket for laptops & mobiles."

Has anybody here taken this train ride? Will this socket provide the appropriate power for my BiPAP machine? I will be taking the converters to allow me to plug-in at my hotels.

Thank you,
Tony

The only way to know for sure is to speak to railroad personnel.
Call their office, and ask if the current is adequate for cpap.

No helpful experience here. Just want to say your vacation sounds enviable.

Thanks. It's probably our "trip of a lifetime". It'll be 3 weeks in Belgium, Italy, France and England. I'm working to be sure my sleep doesn't become an issue so I can enjoy the entire trip fully.

My only thought was you might want a surge protector.

That is a good idea.

Thank you,

In the autumn 1971, after college, I took the train from Rome to Paris with my new girlfriend (now my wife of 43 years) for a one week vacation in Paris. We ended up staying at the Hotel des Bains in the Montparnasse district, one block behind behind La Coupole cafe. We'd planned to be there for only a week and ended up staying for five months. What can I say? The best student getaway ever.

"I wanna go back, go back... and do it all over, but I can't go back, I know" Eddie Money, from the song, 'I Wanna Go Back'. 1984

Have fun in Paris!

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I have a Phillips Respironics System One and on the power supply it indicates 100-240v. Check your power supply and if it says the same thing then you should be okay on the train just using the 2 pin adaptor. If you use a surge protector make sure it too has the same voltage indications. Enjoy your trip!
