I'll find the "managing assholes" area. We are hear for a sleep apnea/CPAP forum and your political crap is unwanted.

Re: how to get my husband to wear his cpap
Tough Love. Make him move into another room to sleep.
Insist that your wills, life insurance, etc. are all up to date and maximized.
Advanced funeral planning.
If he were a mature adult and really loved you he would use the CPAP.

Re: Segmented Sleep is Natural & Beneficial
I agree it is a fascinating article and concept. I understand that it would be difficult in our current culture due to the demands of a 24/7 business culture, parenthood, etc. After 40 years of 24 hour shifts, alternating day and night shifts, etc.-I understand the effects of fragmented sleep. After...

Re: OSA AND TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY
I had bilateral (both knees) total knee replacements the same day. I am sure I had SDB at the time but had not been diagnosed. I understand your concern. Please talk with your anesthesiologist before surgery-many groups have a pre-surgery clinic. There are several peripheral and central nerve block ...

Re: Dueling CPAP - Quick Poll
My wife and I both have PR System One ASVs. I put my oxygen generator in the next room, run the tubing to my ASV, and close the door. Neither of us snored, but we sleep much better knowing that our central apneas/hypopneas are being treated.

Re: New ASV user, frustrated and a bit confused.
David T, Welcome to the forum. As usual, you have received a lot of excellent help-our forum is great that way. I am completing two weeks on the PR REMstar System One Auto SV Advanced with moderate beginning pressures. I leaked too much with nasal pillows and the Hybrid didn't fit well. In three nig...

Re: Lung pain and Cpap ?
Please see you doctor ASAP or go to the ER if it occurs again before seeing your doctor. Three weeks ago tomorrow I was admitted to the hospital with fresh blood clots to each lung, and had several older ones in each lung. I had little chest pain until Friday night, then it was IV morphine time. Ple...

sandman19---and I am signed in! I have checked the "keep me signed in" box checked multiple times and it rarely happens. I wrote a long post today-should have been signed in- and it wouldn't post because I wasn't signed in. I tried to sign in and got the "you've tried to sign in too many times" box....

Re: Last time you've seen any sleep professional? (poll)
I've seen my sleep specialist twice in two months. A vast majority of people on CPAP that I talk with have no interest whatsoever to learn more about their disease, their machines or their data.

Re: at last some results
BlackSpinner is absolutely correct! It is good that they diagnosed you correctly. I did my second sleep study 3 nights ago to get titrated to ASV for Central Apnea. I will be getting the same ASV as my wife (teknomom) above has. I am so happy that you lived through the bad stuff and are now going to...

Re: Any Coumadin users amongst us who use nasal masks?
JIMNSC, How are the nasal pillows working out? Is the area on your nose getting better? Can you continue using them instead of the mask? Is there a different mask that would fit better and not put pressure on your nose? Good luck!

Re: STOP BANG test
Dear Beth0277 Thank you for an interesting post. The STOP-BANG questionnaire was actually developed to indicted a patient's (rough) risk of developing post-operative complications in the PACU secondary to OSA-obstructive sleep apnea. To date it is the most sensitive and specific questionnaire for th...

Re: Surgery/possible sleep apnea
It would be preferable to have the sleep study first and be using XPAP therapy before the surgery-and that often takes months. The type of operation can significantly affect your risks post-operatively. Some are very painful post-op. Some operations, such as gallbladder surgery, affect your breathing...
