Re: AHI increased with change to APAP

Interesting that you both said that....I had in my mind settings of 9-13 (2 above and 2 below my CPAP)

I'll try to figure out how to change it and set it at 9-14.

Thanks!!

AHI increased with change to APAP

So I've been on CPAP for 3 months and doing well. I was at a setting of 11. My AHI would range from .8 (rare) to 4.80 (rare) with an avg of 1.7. I had my first appointment with sleep doctor Monday and I asked if I could change to an APAP setting, thinking my AHI would be a steady low number. So they...

sleepyhead question

My Sleepyhead is calculating time slept wrong....thus my AHI is showing lower then it should be.... It says sleep:22:13 wake: 06:19 hours: 14:19.02 it should be 8:06 hours slept. It says my AHI is 1.97, but for 28 events in 8 hrs, it should be 3.5 Any thoughts on why its calculating the hours wrong?...

mask vent blowing keeps hubby awake....any tricks

well lately my mask vent is blowing on my hobby and keeping him awake. I sleep better on my right side and us switching sides won't work. I was thinking of pinning a pillow case to the mattress between our heads and to the head board. This would be less intrusive then a pillow between us. Any though...

Re: A Night in Hospital with CPAP

Glad to hear your cath was good....15% of stress test are over read as positive. This is common, but on a good note, they are very rarely false negative. If there has to be an error let it be in favor of caution. The hospital I work at use to allow home CPAP but due to unclean, poorly maintained equ...

Re: can you change your settings while renting CPAP?

Thanks Pugsy....I was on EPR of 3 and saw a similar comment on another thread and I figured I would turn it down to 2 and see if I went back to the low 1 AHI's.
I went up! How weird....I could try going to 1 for a week and see.

can you change your settings while renting CPAP?

I have adjusted very well to CPAP and really like my Quattro FX mask. Initially my AHI was always 1.06-1.7 with leak readings around 0-1. Last week I started seeing some AHI's in the low 2 range. Same leak rate. This week, my AHI was 1.5 one night and 2.2 -2.9 the other nights. Still a leak rate 0-1...

Re: S9 autoset is making puffing sounds....

Dale - I put a rubber band around my hose and pin it to the side of my bed so if I get restless during the night, I feel that tug before I feel the tug
of the machine being pulled. Just a thought.

Re: So comfy, you forget you're wearing it?

I find my Quattro FX to be very comfortable and have woken up with a few seconds of "do I have my mask on still??"

The key is getting taught the proper fitting for the Quattro.

S9 autoset is making puffing sounds....

I love my S9 autoset and I've adjusted to CPAP very easily. But I have noticed recently that in the AM my machine is making a puffing sound. This is different then the hose noise. Its not loud enough to wake me or hubby but just curious what might be causing it since its sooo quiet when I go to bed....

Re: Newbie here - A bit frustrated

I'm only a few weeks ahead of you in treatment but here's a few pointers - "normal" is an AHI< 5, which means you want the lowest AHI but 1-3 is still good. From the forum, I think people try to improve this when getting closer to 5 - you will likely find out you need less sleep when using CPAP. I u...

Re: Quattro FX leaks..proper adjustment equals smiles

My Apria rep fitted me the same way. I had a few days of minor leaks but some adjustments and all is well.
I find it to be a very comfortable mask

Re: Apria DME and the Quattro FX mask.

I have Apria too and they said every 3 months they would send a new mask. I think the hose was every 6 months. Twice a month does not sound right. I bought a spare mask and hose just in case.
