Re: System One PR - Query
Hi, I have a question in regards to my Respironics System One PR which is when I move while I am sleeping, the APAP has a tendency to stop blowing air, beeps twice and then starts again to blow air through the APAP into the hose and mask Needless to say the fact that the APAP seems to stop, beeps t...

As a diabetic, I think I'll just eat some chicken. Frogs legs are always a good altenative if you get bored of chicken. Very good for you low in fat and cholesterol: http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/finfish-and-shellfish-products/7739/2 Very versatile: http://pinterest.com/thesneak50/frog-legs-r...

Re: Eat more beef?
There's no question red meat is bad for you! Every American who ate beef steak in 1899 is now dead! Good point and note that they ate free range, grass fed beef with no hormones or antibiotics. I feel you are unfairly victimizing beef. The 1899 vegans are dead also. Clearly, its water that's the re...

Re: Esophagus Ulcers
OSA may contribute to GERD, but only for people who ALREADY have GERD ... that OSA causes GERD is ignorant at best and absurd at worst. Sorry. Dreamstalker, based on personal experience, not sure this is correct. I had quite bad GERD that completely disappeared once on CPAP. Gastro, said my experie...

Re: air blowing on wife from vent
I saw somwehere (cannot recall where) where someone had got a small square of baking/parchament paper and attached it with once piece of blue painters tape above the exhaust holes. The paper and tape was arranged so that the exhaust could blow the paper up a little but not as far as 90 degrees. It t...

Re: New TAP PAP mask review
It remains to be seen if the brain will learn to tell my mouth stay completely shut when on my back but I know that will take time but if it doesn't....it's like I have already said..my time with my mouth open is brief and often I don't even touch large leak territory and more importantly it doesn'...

Re: O/T Australian Government Subsidies?
Hi Emeraude Welcome back! Qld does not provide an electricty subsidy for CPAP (some other States do). There is the Qld Health service for thos ein need, but it takes ome time. If you take the "extras" package, most private health insurers will give you some rebate. Can be anywhere from $200-$1,000 d...

Re: Anybody gotten tonsil infection from CPAP?
How is your sleep therapy going?
Frequent tonsilitis is often associated with poor sleep. I used to get it 2 or 3 times a year before CPAP. Have only had it once now in 3 years (when I wasn't sleeping properly).

Re: Provent - questions
I use Provent when I travel and keep a stash for emergencies. The strengths and weaknesses of the research investigating the efficacy of provent have been discussed in the threads linked to in the posts above. It's important to look at the research so that you can make an informed decision for your...

Re: Custom CPAP Mask - User Research
There was a company in Australia called Acurest who had a process for making a custom fit mask. They were quite expensive.
However their website seems to have died and the CPAP sellers that used to promote them no longer do so I suspect they have gone out of business.
