Re: Aerophagia and Laser Surgery - Warning
I suspect no one really cares how true this story is, but feel free to read the external investigation committee's review into the incident if you have burning desire to get to the truth. http://hospinfo.tokyo-med.ac.jp/news/shimin/data/report_20161028_1.pdf Now it is in Japanese, but I suspect some...

Re: New User Questions
1. Am I expecting too much too think that I should see no AHI events during a nights sleep? 2. Should I use the CPAP device if I take a nap during the day? This nap is very relaxing without CPAP. I feel better after the nap than in the morning after a nights sleep. These naps may occur twice a week...

Re: Tap Water
Yep, same situation for me. We have a two stage filter with a tap in the kitchen. It removes the chlorine and quite a few other nasties. Works great in the humidifier with the occasional vinegar soak as described above. Saves heaps by not having to buy bottled water for drinking. About 250,000 hous...

Re: Tips for fighting exhaustion until I can start treatment
Totally agree with the walking around, ideally in fresh air when you start to nod off. Only needs to be 5 mins. The other trick I found helpful was to starve yourself at lunch and then eat a larger meal at night. If you can't get through lunch without something to eat, try keeping it to very small p...

Re: My mask dilemma
I have a problem that is not covered by the current supply of masks. I cannot raise my arms above my head and therefore cannot put on soft strapped masks. I have one now that has a metal piece that goes over my head and nasal pillows which I love. I have repaired it several times with duct tape, bu...

Re: pulmonary hypertension
To give you some hope, I had the same issue prior to starting on CPAP. I'd suggest you get a sleep study and get treated as soon as you can. It may not be the same for you depending on what is going on, but once my apnea was treated, the pulmonary hypertension resolved itself within a few months. At...

Sleep studies changed for ever?
Interesting article on getting rid of the wires.
http://news.mit.edu/2017/new-ai-algorit ... waves-0807
No mention as to whether it will ever be rolled out.
Other interesting piece of information was that sleep specialists are generally only 80% accurate!

Re: Not necessarily a cure, but his seems to be working for me.
Now I know this is not a recommended solution but weighing it against wearing a cpap the rest of my life I tried using a nasal decongestant on the stuffed up nights along with an over the counter antihistamine. A Miracle honestly. Since I have been doing this I have had no issues with sleep apnea a...

New F&P Sleepstyle Auto
New F&P machine available in Australia. https://www.fphcare.com.au/homecare/sleep-apnea/sleepstyle/ I'm always hopeful F&P will come up with a good well priced machine to give Resmed and Respironics a little more competition and drive down prices overall. Although at the moment pricing seems to be h...

Re: WOW...Now Amazon
I still can't figure out why we need a prescription for a machine to blow air or a mask. I think they should be able to sell them in drug stores. The prices would go way down then. You don't need a prescription to buy a CPAP in Australia. Anyone can open a CPAP store and sell to whom they like. Hea...

I'm in the APAP cured my GERD group.
Not had one issue with GERD since APAP treatment. Pre-APAP I woke up with a mouth full of stomach acid every morning.
I love my machine

Re: Do any CPAP/APAP users sleep on their back?
Agree that an APAP will generally mean sleeping on your back is not a problem. However, the other thing you could try (particularly if you still get some arthritis issues from sleeping in the one position all night) is to sleep in the falcon position. http://www.uarsrelief.com/sleeppositions.html I ...

Re: Nasal Pillows for Mouth Breathers
I'm hoping the P10 works for you, but if not you could perhaps try the Tap Pap. I had mouth breathing issues using nasal pillows. However with the Tap pap there was something about the mouth piece that helped me stop mouth breathing. Might work for you too. I also find it very comfortable as it has ...

Re: ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions
You can't access any data from the Air Mini. It connects via Bluetooth to your phone. I don't think there is any cellular connection. So does that mean your doctor cannot get detailed data? I (wrongly) was assuming that the bluetooth connection would upload the detailed data to a Resmed server usin...

Re: ResMed Air Mini - Initial Impressions
Looks like the only data is with ResMed's app (the summary information available for the past week). There doesn't appear to be a way to download data. Would like to sync it with SleepyHead to see if it functions just as well as my AirSense 10. Mmmm makes it an even more expensive option if you hav...
