Re: COPD POLL
I have to re-read that but what I got was that using Simvastin BEFORE exposure to smoking was protective.... I don't see that happening, unless we put teens on it when we give them the HPV vaccine... OK I'll go finish the article. I hate big Pharma.

Re: why we do abandon ship
Todzo, we already have the ability to create our own home sleep lab. Anyone who wants to self diagnose can with fair accuracy. xpap + Zeo + oximeter. We are also the people that would have a lab PSG done. What you are talking about won't help all the people that have to be dragged to the lab to begi...

I tried an edit, but it seemed to take, but lose the results that had been submitted. Sigh, It's all a learning process.greatunclebill wrote:15 prescription medications a day which includes pills, creams, sprays and shampoo. also some as required things.
Please respond again.

POLL: Do you have COPD?
OSA just adds to the mix. Or maybe it is exacerbated by COPD symptoms. Or maybe I had OSA before. Which came first the Chicken or the Egg?
My dad has COPD and I smoked twice what he did for most of my adult life so I see it in my future but wonder what impact lifestyle changes make at this point.

COPD POLL
I'm just a curious person... There is another poll to follow. But you knew that. I think COPD warnings should be on cigarette packs instead of cancer warnings. It seems that not every smoker gets cancer but all seem to suffer from COPD. I'm interested in other causes and treatments of COPD and the r...

POLL, How many different meds do you take daily?
Just curious.. I read recently that TN had the highest per capita rate of prescriptions. I was in a drug store recently and was shocked when I looked at all the little bags of drugs stacked behind the counter ready for pick up. I asked a clerk how many scripts they dispensed a day and of course, she...

Just go buy an SD card. The ResMed one is only one gig. You can download ResScan and make sure your new one works. Just look for Uncle_Bob's signature block for the link to the download.

Re: Does your dme do this?
My supplies don't implode after 30 days so I don't worry too much about it. My DME is probably more concerned that I don't come in for mask fittings or call them for assistance. That's what cuts into their business model. That said, they have enough sheep to support them.

Re: UPDATE! hair clip DID solve my positional sleep apnea!
Elena, I'm having trouble with this part: "my head is tilted down and forward a bit". It seems that is what closes my airway when I lay on the couch or fall asleep in the recliner. Maybe the trick is laying on your stomach. That is the way I always thought I slept before pap. I found out different a...

I'm sure they all have a reason or a purpose, but I am not sure we should think so much about our sleep. We may be defeating it's purpose.

Re: Test results interpretation
I would call the sleep lab and get a copy of your full report with condensed graphs for both PSG and titration. Those will give you more information about what happened when... Such as sleep stages, position, how low your O2 dropped and for how long...

Re: Pay Pal - Pros and Cons
It's not security so much as convenience. The payment is made in minutes instead of mailing a check. I know my password, so I don't have to get my credit card and enter all the billing information. Just click the link, log in, review the bill and payment options, and confirm.
