Re: Long term cPap user with suddenly high AHI
Thanks, Pugsy, I am going to start tightening up to see if that helps. It appears that these aberrant readings began after diagnosis of Afib, but I actually had Afib for a long time prior to diagnosis just didn't realize that's what it was! The medication that I've taken since that diagnosis: Eliqui...

Re: Help! CPAP is breaking but no options!
If you have your prescription, take a picture of it and send it to cpap.com. They have several options for payment over time. I've used Bread in the past, and it worked great. I was able to get a new machine (one that I wanted, not just what insurance would pay for). Interest rates weren't that bad,...

Re: Long term cPap user with suddenly high AHI
I created a post and attached an OSKAR file from last night, and of course cpaptalk was down and lost the entire thing. Trying again. I think this chart demonstrates that I do indeed have treatment-emergent central apnea. Other nights showing the CA's do not have the large leaks, but I couldn't see...

Re: Long term cPap user with suddenly high AHI
OK. I downloaded the software and turned on and set up Linux. Problem is, I know nothing about Linux, so what do I do now? If I click on the software, it tells me it is not supported. I double-checked that I had the correct file.
Do I need to type a command in Linux?
I'm now at a loss.

Re: Long term cPap user with suddenly high AHI
Chunky: I have seen my cardiologist; just on Friday, to be exact. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to take this issue (my sleep apnea) that seriously. I had to insist on a pulmonology consult for a sleep study. He says there is no concern about my A-fib because I take a blood thinner and Metropolol (e...

Long term cPap user with suddenly high AHI
Hello there everyone, I have been absent for a few years. My apnea has been very well treated for at least 10 years now, and all has been good until recently. I was recently diagnosed with A-fib. After an initial period where it was successfully treated with Metropolol, the A-fib suddenly became mor...

S8 Elite Power Supply and Cord
This is a long-shot, I know. I went to get my travel machine out for a trip tomorrow, and noticed the entire cord including power supply is gone. Don't know how it happened or where it could possibly have gone! The long and the short of it is, I either need to get a replacement S8 power supply and c...

As someone who has direct experience with VA disability, please let me state for the record that it is not easy to get VA disability. My late husband served in country from '66 to '69. One of those rare souls who was almost constantly in country. In the course of his duties at forward infantry posit...

Re: Need ideas re plane ride
I can only relate my experience on one of my trips to the east coast. I travel to my daughter's homes 4-6 times a year as funds permit, mostly by air. I have 2 machines, one lives at my daughter's. That way I don't have to carry a machine with me. One time I was on my way back and my plane got serio...

Re: Starting CPAP soon and wondering
Hi Karen My symptoms sound exactly like yours, right down to the looking at a piece of paper and wondering what to do with it. I would also get on the elevator to go to the second floor and look at the keypad blankly because I didn't know which button to push! It was awful, because I felt like I mus...

Re: MS turns out to be OSA?
I have both OSA and MS, diagnosed with both in the same year. Lucky me. While many of my symptoms improved with cPAP therapy, my walking has not, and continues to deteriorate.

Re: What does your DME offer that you can't get online?
I've done it both ways, DME and online. For me, self-pay is the way to go so long as I can afford it. In my case, though, I bought a machine out of pocket from a DME for about the same price as online. It worked out great, because I took it home with me immediately rather than waiting for it to ship...

Re: Can you Cheat a spleep apenia test?
I debated long and hard with myself before posting on this, since weight is such a hot button topic. But assuming that someone with a shattered ankle can do cardio or walk simply because a relative did it, is painting with too broad a brush. Everyone's body heals differently; some heal betther and m...

Re: Wise to tell the Doctor?
I 'tweaked' my settings well within the compliance period. I even bought (out of pocket) a second machine so I could leave one at my daughter's home, where I visit 5-6 times a year. I took my card (from the new, self-paid machine, in several times during that period. No one ever commented on the fac...

Re: Something New for Those Irritated by Straps
Hmmm, I have the Bella Loops and love them, except for when the edge of the plastic gets jammed into the crease of my ear. Maybe I can work up the inspiration to try something similar. They make really soft hair elastices that should work better than the loops.
