Try unplugging...wait for 30-60 seconds and re-plug. This may re-set the machine.

Very old thread, reanimated by antiques enthusiast (the thread).

Just an fyI but many sights are saying this is either a power issue or the motor is toast. I had the same issues as the rest of you. I pulled my machine apart and checked the motor if it was seized. To my surprise it was not. I put everything back together and it now is working again. I believe that being as old as it is that maybe one or more of the conectar had bits of corosion. See how long this fix lasts. But it is working again with no e1 code anymore.

received an E 1 code last night on an older F&P HC230 CPAP with humidifier... tried unplugging for several hours but code has not cleared.
Unit has been making louder sounds the past few days/weeks so it may be a motor issue. Appreciate any suggestions.

This old thread is for the same question I have: what is e1 on a SleepStyle 200? This thread is the top hit on Google, so here’s my guess…

Take the thing apart and put it back together again.
I am in the process of doing that now. There were several broken bits of plastic rattling around inside mine. I suspect that was causing the noise. I could find where they went and super glue them back in place, but I won’t bother if it’s dead.

First thing I noticed when I looked under the cover is a CR2032 coin battery. These things will last for decades and go dead all of sudden… just like the CPAP did… I will replace it and hopefully keep the memory in tact.

<Update>
Reassembly... Didn't work
New CR2032... Didn't work
Solution... Punt, order new machine. :D

This thread is over 10 years old, as is very likely the machine in question.

This is too bad because my SleepStyle 608 just began showing the E1 code and shutting down last night. Grr...
