Re: Poligrip strips fail... do you want them?

[Because the chinstrap will keep my mouth shut but the air at a pressure of 12 still leaks out of my mouth enough that it isn't helping me at all . Same here. I put a thin smear of Poligrip from the tube on my lips, and it works just fine. Air escaping from my lips renders the cpap useless, and mak...

Re: Went the Orthodontic Route

I My daughter (11 years old) is undergoing orthodontia right now. She has the same facial "dysmorphisms" as I do from our shared genetic syndrome--high arched palate, narrow dental arches, and micrognathia, or very small and receded lower jaw. These issues are major contributor to my obstructive ap...

Re: Went the Orthodontic Route

So are you saying you had a palate expander appliance on the top and bottom jaw, which you wore 16 hours a day, then got braces, and then you'll have to get either a bridge or something to fill in the gaps in your teeth? If you expanded your jaw, top and bottom, that would have created gaps in your ...

Re: Non-Surgical Cures for Sleep Apnea

I believe what you're talking about is a palet expander. A popular one on the market right now is the DNA appliance (day and night). It's pricey, at around $8K, I think, but I am currently saving up to get one. Here's a link to a video diary of a girl who is currently undergoing palet expansion, but...

Re: OT: Sandy

Here’s a great image showing the difference between this storm and Irene from last year. That’s been the big concern for all meteorologists. People have become complacent after Irene’s hype. Sandy is the real deal. Shows the effect of the trough/cold front pushing to the coast, and how it gets swall...

Re: Deep Cycle Home Backup Supply

i bought a small foldable trolly at Costco for less that $20 and put my battery set up on it. Now I can wheel it around wherever I want it, since winter is almost upon us I have wheeled it in to my bedroom and put it in a safe corner of the room. What an extra GREAT tip!! You all are such great help

Re: Thinking about small generator for backup

However, you all are talking WAYYYY above my head. [/quote] All you have to do is read Archangel's Deep Battery Home Backup Thread. It WON'T get any easier than that and it can be assembled in a day if you can get your hands on the stuff, and an idiot like me can do the simple step by step direction...

Re: Deep Cycle Home Backup Supply

Someone PMed me and asked for recommendations for a backup power supply. Rather than send it to one person, here's what I suggested. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for: step-by-step directions and links to everything one should get for a battery backup. I can't thank you enough, Archangel. And ...

Re: OT: Sandy

Thanks! This thread has put great fear in me to muck with the plugs and machines, and my eyeballs are crossed from reading battery-speak. I think I'll just use my Devilbiss tomorrow with it's one-night capacity battery for safety's sake and hope power will be out only one night. If it's more, it's m...

Re: OT: E. Coast Cable TV interruptions a plenty today?

OK, Aol TV was cutting in and out this afternoon for about 2 hours, I was getting scared. But now it's fine in No. VA and the weather is extremely calm -- calm before the storm, I guess. I don't have to figure out my Devilbiss until tomorrow, when the storm hits tomorrow night (I only have battery f...

OT: E. Coast Cable TV interruptions a plenty today?

My cable tv keeps flicking on and off during TV programs. Is anyone else on the East Coast noticing this?

Re: Battery Backups - Car Battery Jumpers?

That's strange - I thought I responded to more of you but those posts aren't showing up. So I'll just sum up - thank you all so much for the wonderful information. I'm making note of all of it in case this doesn't go as I expect. I'll be testing the car battery jumper I purchased with the built-in ...

Re: OT: Sandy

My thoughts exactly. I recently bought a Devilbiss Intellipap auto and its backup battery from cpap.com. I have yet to unpack the Devilbiss and am wondering if the backup battery that I have will attach to my brick C150 Remstar ? I really don't have the time to figure out the Devilbiss, right now, b...

Re: Respironics data inaccurate? Fire doctor?

Maybe I'm ignorant on this point...but I don't know why anyone would need a sleep doc after they get the software and a data capable machine and can see the reports themselves to see how they're sleeping and can then tweak appropriately. Why?? And I would never need another sleep test either. What a...

Re: Mouthguards

After going through the process it seemed to me that on the basis of how much chair time the dentist put in making impressions, his cost in getting the thing produced by a dentureist, and fine tuning the fit of the thing afterwards, he was probably doing well to break even on the deal. So, yes, exp...
