Re: new dental appliance seems to work in getting my ahi below 5
I'm glad you're using both--that is very smart. Now, it's probably a matter of how far you've advanced the Klearway (and the lower jaw too). It took me a while to get the jaw to a point where it was working well with the cpap and a lower pressure, because of course you want to go slow so you don't h...

Re: new dental appliance seems to work in getting my ahi below 5
That's great, John. It's amazing how one person's AHI can leave one person feeling fine, while that same AHI can leave another feeling horrible. I don't feel well unless my AHI is under 1. If you want to take it a step further, you can try to use cpap with the Klearway and I bet you get an AHI under...

Re: F & P Pilairo nasal pillows - does the sore nose diminish ov
The thing is, when people try the Pilairo thru their DME--they can't stretch out the strap so that they can see how the mask will work comfortably . My best advice would be to lower the strap to the top of the neck and hopefully it will stay put for at least one night so that you can see how the mas...

Re: F & P Pilairo nasal pillows - does the sore nose diminish ov
I love the Pilairo and have never had a problem with nasal soreness--are you sure you aren't wearing it too tight and have the pillows jammed up your nose? I had to stretch my strap out by wrapping it around something for a day and now it's perfect. Really sounds to me like you have those pillows ja...

Pad A Cheek fleece covers for Pilairo
Just a word of thanks to Karen, who made Pad-A-Cheek fleece covers for the straps of the Pilairo. I have been using them for a couple months now and they are completely wonderful--very soft and comfortable. Mine are pink.

Re: CPAP causing bowel inactivity
About 6 months ago, I would wake up in the middle of the night with absolutely terrible pain in my bowel that would last for hours. I literally thought something was ripping my insides apart. This happened on and off for about 6 months. I finally went to colon doctor and turns out I was having somet...

Re: Would like my AHI a bit lower
Janice,
My problem is obstructive apneas, too. A mouthpiece (oral appliance) with the cpap has solved that problem for me. I don't know if you'd be willing to go that route, but by advancing the lower jaw forward really makes a difference in the AHI when your problem is with obstructive apneas.

Re: received dental appliance, fitlife mask and resmed vpap S9 S
The only thing, though, is that I can only use the mouthpiece with the apap, and not the mouthpiece alone--it will not control my apnea good enough and I don't want to have an AHI greater than 1 (because anything greater than 1 for me leads me to feeling like crud). I never got a sleep test with the...

Re: received dental appliance, fitlife mask and resmed vpap S9 S
John, I use a dental device with the apap and it works out so much better than with the apap alone. I recently quit using the dental device with the apap just to see how it would be. Snores were awful, apneas were longer and more of them. For the past 2 nights I've worn the dental device again with ...

Re: Weird Jaw Popping and Pain
Addercatter, I'm thinking once you get good sleep for a while, hopefully some of the medical issues will stop, or at least subside greatly. I never had a scan of my heart, but I'm sure it was quite enlarged from decades of sleep apnea. I've read that heart enlargement happens sometimes. But then aft...

Re: Went the Orthodontic Route
I’m predicting that within 5 to 10 years, there will be a flood of litigation against these corrupt orthodontists, Why not start now? In the UK, they are much more organized than the U.S. (See Orthodontic Outrage article: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/releases/21288.php). Orthodontics worldwide i...

Re: Went the Orthodontic Route
There’s more than enough information on the net from doctors, articles, books, videos, and the like, on the link between bad orthodontia and sleep apnea and scoliosis also (from ccarieb’s video that you posted), as well as testimony from every dentist I have seen that my childhood orthodontia is lin...
