My problem is obstructive apneas, too. A mouthpiece (oral appliance) with the cpap has solved that problem for me. I don't know if you'd be willing to go that route, but by advancing the lower jaw forward really makes a difference in the AHI when your problem is with obstructive apneas.

The only thing, though, is that I can only use the mouthpiece with the apap, and not the mouthpiece alone--it will not control my apnea good enough and I don't want to have an AHI greater than 1 (because anything greater than 1 for me leads me to feeling like crud).
