Confession Time....
I have been not "compliant" with my APAP machine. When I went into an Adrenal Crisis at the beginning of May, I started be become excessively tired again and I would just crash into bed and reluctantly fall to sleep. I would use the APAP machine only 25% of the time. I would wake up, just like the ...

Re: Sleep Apnea in the Hospital
I think you need to take some of the responsibility. You should have discussed your OSA with your surgeon and the anesthesiologist. Ask whether you should bring your CPAP with you when you go to the hospital. When in doubt...bring it. I did discuss it with my Cardiologist who said that they had the...

Sleep Apnea in the Hospital
I was a outpatient yesterday in the Hospital and in the operating room they gave me O2 and what I thought was a CPAP machine. It was not a General Anesthesia situation. All that went normal. When they wheeled me into the recovery area. I was going into Apneas over and over. The O2 Sat monitor was go...

At the Hospital
While in the Hospital last week I didn't have a APAP machine the first night and everytime a nurse walked in I would wake up when the knocked on the door. I wouldn't just wake up, I was essentially, wide awake. I think that they thought that I wasn't sleeeping at all. The next night, the setup a Bi-...

Re: Does a C.A. represent no breathing?
The CA's only show that there was an event without an obstruction. To determine if it was in fact a Central Apnea you have to have another Sleep Study. A XPAP machine often gets the OA's under control only to cause significant issues with the CA's. I learned about that here and from my Pulmonologist...

Re: Does a C.A. represent no breathing?
The short answer is yes. The difference between CA and OA is that the machine is not detecting an obstruction. Since the numbers are way above 5 and they are mostly CAs, it seems that you should have your wife speak to her Sleep Dr or a Pulmonologist to evaluate what's happening. It's my guess that ...

Re: Did you have any of these symptoms before diagnosis?
It sounds as though you might have Auto-Immune issues. CRP can indicate RA might be involved. Hand grip can start to fail when you have swelling of the joints. Thyroid issues are also associated with inflammation. Liver Function AST/ALT are usually Fatty Liver issues and can be associated with meds ...

Re: Taking a break from coding..
I was wondering what happened. And this morning I did a search and found your post. Mark, you deserve a break. I will be rough on us because everyday I was getting used to seeing another whiz bang change! I used to do programming, the bad thing was when I would get stuck on some routine and say that...

Re: ASV Periodic Breathing Question
I was sick with a chest congestion and a persistant/productive cough and my AHI jumped to 9+ too. I asked the same question that you did. I took Prednisone at the advise of my Dr. and both issued were resolved. I still have more CAs than anything else and I still have Periodic Breathing issues too. ...

Re: SleepyHead 0.9.1 Official Beta Release
Something interesting today. I had my Laptop open today to the Overview Page of SH 0.92 and then closed the Lid for a minute. I reopened the Lid and the charts were gone and that section was black. It repeated each time that I checked.
I wasn't looking for anything, just happenstance.

Re: Central Sleep Apneas are freaking me out
A few weeks ago I spoke to my Pulmonologist, who is also my Sleep Dr. about this very issue. He has scheduled another Sleep Study for me next month, he warned me that it may take two or three studies since the Clusters tend to be transient in nature. But if they see them, they can figure out what to...

Re: PB/CSR Scary
Thanks for posting the video. I noticed one of the breathing patterns on myself. Especially when she"blows out" air from her mouth. I've done that a number of times from the best of my recollection. Originally, I thought that it was because of two much pressure in the mask. But later I discovered th...

Starlette here's my pattern from Feb 4th, http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l549/cpaptex/2-4-2012.jpg I have days where it's like this over and over for 15-30 minutes. And days when nothing happens. They always happen when my CAs get a bit out of control. I'm concerned about the frequency of the e...
