Re: Headache starts an hour after waking up
I think that Low O2 would be almost immediately noticeable, at least it was for me. 1 hour later can be allergies, the air that you get via a CPAP is filtered, not alot of filtering. But filtered nonetheless. As you walk around exposed to unfiltered air, you might get exposed to some allergens and g...

Re: SleepyHead 0.9.1 Official Beta Release
This isn't really a bug, just different. I've noticed that under events it will now sometimes show Periodic Breathing 0 Events. Is that because there was a wannabe event? Just curious.

Re: Red Mark on Nose Bridge
Indy, I have the same issue with my Phillips EasyLife CPAP Mask, that's why I got a ResMed Mirage Activa LT to give my nose a break. The issue doesn't always come up, but when it does, it can really hurt! The Activa leaks more than the EasyLife.

Re: Periodic Breathing
Last night, actually this morning, I had 19 events in 9 minutes. They were CAs not OAs in addition to 3 Hyponeas. If I add in the other near events, then it would be 29 events over 14 minutes. Every 30 seconds ---- On and then off. Was that short or not, I don't know. But my sister, who also has RA ...

Re: Sizing Guide for Softgel/ActivaLT
I bought the Mirage Activa LT yesterday and mine came with 2 inserts, 1 soft gel and 1 clear gel. They were both Medium, the clear gel feels much better and fit much better than the soft gel. My other mask is the EasyLife which I like alot, but it crushes the bridge of my nose but almost never leaks...

Re: Periodic breathing ?
I wish that I had something to contribute that what Pugsy said, unfortunately I don't. But 12-14% seems high to me. I suggest that you talk to your Sleep Dr. If you have a Pulmonologist, I would be talking to him/her too. My answer from my Pulmonologist. is that "we need to watch it, but it doesn't ...

Re: Wheezing, Asthma, Only Prednisone helps sleep
I just want to point out that Prednisone is a Steroid and is used primarily to supress an Auto-Immune Response, Principally Inflammation. It is not a Sleeping Aid, it acts to the contrary and will keep you up at night. For those who are reading this thread, 50mg is a very high dose of Prednisone. Lo...

Re: Water in lungs due to humidifier?
I run my Humidifer at the lowest setting, my room is ranges from 70-72 degrees. It seems to take 2 weeks to run out of water. At that rate, I doubt that much water would stay in my lungs. At 2, it feels too warm and muggy for me. I agree that I too cough when I wake up, but I've always done that wit...

Re: My CPAP Story
It was time to go get replace parts for my Respironics EasyLife Nasal Mask, try another Nose Pillow or get something else. I opted to get the ResMed Mirage Activa LT. I had this as one of my mask during the tryout and I liked it. It leaked a bit so I decided to move along. Now I need a break from th...

Re: Wheezing, Asthma, Only Prednisone helps sleep
I have tried advair 500, dulera, symbicort, albuterol, atrovent and they don't stop my wheezing and sleep problems. not even prednisone does and I've read of other asthmatics who take it at this dose for 5 days my lung function is going down on my PFT tests- I'm worried I may have airway remodeling...

Re: Wheezing, Asthma, Only Prednisone helps sleep
I am going to respond once and only once regarding self medicating asthma patients who refuse to either follow a doctor's advice or see a doctor for uncontrolled asthma problems. I worked with a doctor in an Urgent Care facility many years ago and a 42 year old woman presented herself with acute as...

Re: Wheezing, Asthma, Only Prednisone helps sleep
You need to see a Dr. They can Prescribe Albuterol that you take via a Nebulizer. Or an Inhaled Steroid Puffer that you can take or perhaps a longer acting Inhaler like Advair or Symicort. As a note, Prednisone does not work as a fast acting treatment for Asthma. Albuterol does and so do the Inhaled...

Re: cpap causes shortness of breath
I started out at 6cm and I was gasping for air. I went the very next day to the DME and my Prescription called for 6-15cm. They asked my to spend some time with them and they adjusted the machine per the Drs order. I could not accept the 6cm so they adjusted the machine to 8.5 ad ramping up to 10. M...

Re: 2nd Night on Apap. Also a Comparison.
Pugsy, I'm not trying to be argumentative, I'm puzzled. Here's a view from last night for me. CAs where the pressure shot, 1-OA where the pressure continued up and a few more CAs where the pressure shot up some more. It doesn't fully follow what you've described. EDIT: Whoops, I was looking at the A...
