Re: Which S9 Autoset Manual is the most recent?
Honestly, those are just about the least-informative manuals I've seen for something this important. There's hardly anything even in the clinical manual (which, btw, was extremely challenging for me to get a paper copy of despite being a licensed, practicing physician with several patients with this...

Sure there is, at least potentially.EricinNC wrote:There is no excuse for bashing a respiratory patient online when you are a respiratory professional, even if that person is not a patient.
Being a "respiratory patient" doesn't give anyone a free pass, even from a "respiratory professional."

Re: How many people here still take naps during the afternoon?
Thanks for a very reasonable post and a reasonable question. Apparently, residual daytime sleepiness despite proper use of xPAP is fairly common. It's so common that there are medications approved for this. They're quite expensive, but payers recognize that there's more to sleepiness than just the b...

Re: New User: Dumb Question: Do I need a Dr. Prescription to try
It gets a bit worse than needing a prescription. The pressure setting for a CPAP machine comes from a sleep study, and often from 2 studies, that are much more expensive than any office visit. Other messages have laid out some of the issues with just guessing that you have OSA and just guessing at a...

Re: What is McDover's real last name, state and is he an RT?
I would be utterly flabbergasted if any state board for any discipline would have the slightest interest in what one of their licensees says or does online with respect to someone who is not that licensee's patient. Here's a real-life, current example. This is me, as a licensed physician publicly tr...

Re: CPAP therapy in Europe
I traveled to England years ago with an older Remstar model than you have and all I needed was a plug adapter. Most CPAP machines will take any AC input and work just fine. I doubt you will need a transformer. In any event, transformers will change voltage to what you need but won't change frequency.

Re: WHAT TO SAY to get better machine
The real, and possibly only, key here is persistence. For the most part, DMEs don't get paid by the specific machine. They get paid for treatment. The tendency, therefore, is to use one standard, not very expensive, machine for as many patients as possible. My personal solution was just to give up a...

Re: OT: Test Your Political Savvy
I'm pretty sure your reported score is the scored based on comparison w/those who originally took the survey. I see no evidence of that whatsoever at http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2010/1221/Are-you-smarter-than-a-Fox-News-viewer-How-about-a-CNN-viewer-Take-our-quiz-to-find-out/Are-you-smarter-than-a...

Re: OT: Test Your Political Savvy
The scoring isn't based on whether you answered correctly but rather it is based on how closely your answers corresponded w/the majority of those who took the original survey as I understand it. You misread, then. Perhaps that was part of the test. The questions are the original questions that were...

Re: OT: Test Your Political Savvy
I got 11/11, but I get most of my news from NPR, so that's most likely the problem. Getting facts right is, increasingly, un-American an NPR is obviously attempting to subvert the country through dis-disinformation.

Nothing you do on your computer can screw up your new S9, unless you mess around with Settings. Even that will only only change the settings, which should be what you intend if you're changing settings.

Re: Resmed ResScan™ 3.13 for S9 VPAP Auto
Uncle Bob, the ResScan 3.13 won't install on my Win 7 64 bit system It installed just fine for me on two different 64-bit Windows 7 systems. "Won't install" includes a massive range of problems. It might help if you were to be more descriptive about exactly what steps you are taking and exactly wha...
