Full Face mask headgear question

I use a Mirrage Quatro mask with the standard headgear. I have been using this mask for several years now with no issues. Last summer I have a C5-C7 PCDF (posterior discectomy and fusion), consequently I have incision that run up from where my shoulders meet my neck to just under my hairline. Recent...

Re: Blue Cross denying all sleep disorders

I guess they would rather pay for the treatment of the accident victims instead of getting at the root cause of some accidents. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/01/04/drowsy-drivers-pose-major-risks/ I scheduled my appointment with my doc after several times of riving to work and not remembering a...

Low Cost Bio-metric Monitoring

In my day job, I coordinate a regional educational technology conference. This year we are doing some things with students and the Raspberry Pi, a low cost open source computing platform. This morning I came across this article from the UK: http://www.cooking-hacks.com/index.php/documentation/tutori...

Re: Insomnia Is Linked to Trouble Breathing

This is how I felt before CPAP, I went to the Doc to talk about insomnia and depression. The first thing he did was refer me to a sleep doc and scheduled a sleep study!

Re: Complaints about Lincare

Say what???? $1500 for an overnight oximetry test??? My family doctor can script one w/a local DME provider and it can run anywhere from free to $65. But $65 is the HIGHEST I've seen charged for an overnight oximetry. $1500 sounds more like an in-lab titration study utilizing 02 as well as the CPAP...

Re: POLL: Do you have COPD?

I quit smoking in 2011 after 20 years, I am hoping that I did not do to much damage. It was a good thing I quit, as my neurosurgeon will not do a fusion on a smoker.

Re: Does your dme do this?

I use the auto order system for my supplies. I get a box of supplies every 3 months. This way they bill my insurance company at the proper interval and I do not have to worry about remembering to order. If something changes - I just need to call, like when I had my cervical fusion I had them add a l...

Re: Complaints about Lincare

I work there and would love to know how they are disregarding you? There should never be an issue and if there is it should be taken care of right away. If the issue remains which is rare there will usually always be a rationale reason and is their responsiblity to effectively relay the message. If...

PR System 1 filters popping out

Has anyone had the problem of the filters popping out of the machine? I found mine on the kitchen floor this morning! I am trying to figure out if the popped out and the kitten took them down stairs, or did the kitten play with the machine and bring them down and pull them out?

Re: Does your DME ever...

My DME always sends me my supplies in the original packaging. My hose and filters usually come from Care mark, Resmed mask in a sealed package. My old DME Lincare would send in their own branded package. My wife's swift Fx came with only the small size. That is why we switched to a hometown DME that...

Pilairo for Trade

I got a Pilairo before my neck surgery tried it once and hated it. It has been used once and I should still have the retail packaging as well. My father-in law lost his job, he has insurance from the VA, but my mother in law is not eligible for medicare for another 2 years. I just love how we treat ...

Re: OT - Cubital Tunnel Syndrome

When I follow up with the neurosurgeon who did my neck on the 3rd of December; he will be writing me a script for PT on therapy for the neck, I am going to see if he can refer me to someone about my elbow. I looked at the night splints on ebay, but if I can get the insurance to pay for it I am going...

OT - Cubital Tunnel Syndrome

In the process of getting my neck fixed, I had to undergo an EMG, wich also showed I have Cubital Tunnel Syndrome in my elbow. It is aggravated by sleeping with a bent elbow. Has anyone tried one of the night splints or any other therapy to help this out?

Re: I triple dog dare you...

I had to post this one: Mirage Quattro FFM, Padacheek Liner, and a Miami J cervical collar: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8487/8200630487_c8de843d09_c.jpg Tried the Pilairo, Swift FX, but I went back to the standby Mirage Quattro. You would think I would never be able to sleep like this - but I do a...

Re: 1 year on the hose

So I had my 1 year follow up: I did not get yelled or scolded for messing with my pressure. She looked at the reports and said I was right on track. Regarding Sleepyhead - My doctor said "If using Sleepyhead helps your compliance - go for it!" It is your health and you know yourself better and you s...
