Cervical spine issues and Apnea
What an interesting week for me - First - my wife was in the hospital with a "virus that mimics" the symptoms of meningitis. She is home and getting better each day. Second - I get the results of my MRI of my c-spine and find out that I have a herniated disc and one about to go as well Third - I go ...

Re: OT - Prayers Needed
Thanks for all the support and prayers - I got her home today, not much was figured out, as usual. But she will sleep in her own bed and with her own cpap tonight! They adjusted a few meds and that was about it. We have a plan for her - but now I have to plan for me - durring all of this, I got the ...

Re: OT - Prayers Needed
Well we finally got the cpap issue resolved. The doctor ordered a hospital CPAP, said the one that she has at home is "not good enough" for use at the hospital. the put her on this: http://www.healthcare.philips.com/main/products/hospital_respiratory/products/ventilators/v60_ventilator.wpd The respi...

Re: OT - Prayers Needed
Things are looking up, no meningitis, just a bad case of whatever seasonal bug has been going around. Another day or two and we should be home. The only issue we had was last night with the respiratory care department, they wanted her on their bipap, but they never could get an order to get it hooke...

OT - Prayers Needed
My wife, and fellow hosehead is back in the hospital. This time it is for a case of suspected viral meningitis. We have had a tough year between me breaking my ankle, then she ruptured a disc helping me out of bed while i was recovering, now this hit us without warning. At least it was not bacterial...

Re: Has CPAP Helped Your Mood?
Men do not always show the "normal" depression symptoms. We get grumpy, irritable, and figure it will just go away since we are the "Strong Ones." I have depression, ADHD, and had many of the same symptoms of frequent arousals, poor sleep, palpitations, anxiety and even chest pain at times. Treating...

Re: Apnea Surgery - Trans Oral Robotic Surgery (TORS)
The Da Vinchi robot is an amazing device, my buddy just had bypass surgery at Ohio State using the robot, no cracked chest, home in a few days. If any technique has any betting money on it - that might be the one. The endoscopic sleep study sound interesting as well, finding the exact spot where the...

Re: Removing Odors from Silicon
After the baking soda / vinegar treatment you place it in a bag with activated charcoal. The kind that you get a at an aquarium store. This stuff can pull all kinds of odors out of plastics / items given enough time to work.

Re: Cpap use and muscle relaxants
I have two degenerating discs in my neck, that over the past 3 months have been giving me a lot of trouble. I have tried Flexeril, valium, and tizadine, with the last being the most effective with helping to make me relax enough to get to sleep. As for the pain relievers, NSAIDs and tylenol help som...

Re: How do I stop myself taking mask off while asleep?
I had this problem until I added the mask liner from padacheek. I am very sensation aware and the cloth to face is less bothersome than the silicone to face sensation for me. Since I started using the pada cheek, I have not ripped the mask off in the middle of the night.

Actually GoDaddy's DNS server crashed. Their network engineers need to spend more time on the servers than making commercials with scantily clad women.

Re: Standby generators: where to locate
for my generator I poured a concrete pad on the back side of the house, away from any of the windows. I placed an eyebolt in the concrete to lock the generator to. I built a little shed roof over it to shield the generator from rain. I have the transfer switch located next to the main panel in the b...
