Attention, Mouth Tapers, Eureka!
Although taping my mouth shut has eliminated mouth breathing and cotton mouth, I still have struggled with adhesive residue in the mornings. I've tried various chemicals, lotions, etc., all to no avail. I wind up rubbing the gunk off with a towel, and that irritates the skin. A friend of my daughter...

Re: Cotton mouth and insomnia with CPAP (new user)
I experience the same problem with extremely painful cotton mouth. I tried different masks. I currently use a Swift II nasal pillow. If you are constantly experiencing cotton mouth, in my opinion, your mouth is opening, you are probably shallow breathing and the air going in your nose is recirculati...

Re: One more Question on mouth taping
You are not without a supply of air to breathe if you have a power outage. Even when turned off, the air still enters the machine through the filtered intake, passes through the hose to your nose. In addition, if your mask has exhalation holes, which I imagine it would have, as you breathe, air woul...

Re: Dry Mouth
In my case, I had severe dry mouth, 2 or 3 times a night, to the extent of it being painful. As soon as I begin to doze, my mouth comes open. When I turn onto my side, my mouth closes, and I have no problems until I return to my back, which I am told is a frequent occurance throughout the night. Inc...

Re: Swift LT Rubbing End of My Nose Raw
I think you can rub all sorts of things on it and do all the re-arranging you can and in the final analysis, in my opinion, the mask will continue to assault the end of your nose. I hope you identify a solution, but it's unlikely. My solution was to put it in the drawer along with all the other mask...

Re: Swift LT Rubbing End of My Nose Raw
When the Swift LT came out, I thought it would be great, in that since the supply tube is in the middle, you can sleep on either side. At the time, and for quite some time, I have used the Swift II, which restricts sleeping to only one side at a time. So I went home with a Swift LT and woke up with ...

From Liberty Back To Swift II and Tape
After 3 nights with my Swift II and 2" paper surgical tape over my mouth, my problem was solved, except for the adhesive removal in the morning. So, I went to the medical folks and checked out a Resmed Liberty loaner. From the looks of it, I thought it would be the ticket. I couldn't even get starte...

Re: CPAP Pro "No Mask": Anyone tried it?
I bought one and used it a few times. I went back to my Swift II because I did not like the mouthpiece in my mouth all night.

Re: New Study, New Pressure, New Problem
My machine is a Compact. Don't even want to talk about tennis balls. I taped my mouth shut last night and had no problems, no leaks (Swift II), no cotton mouth and slept soundly, or I think I did. Thanks for the tip. With the surgical tape, I don't even need the chin strap. Thanks.

Re: New Study, New Pressure, New Problem
I have a Resmed S8 and to my knowledge, it produces no data. I have had a number of masks, all of which leaked, sputtered and woke me up. I have been using the Swift II since it came on the market. I like it better than all the rest I have tried. I think I will try the tape. I do sleep on my side a ...

New Study, New Pressure, New Problem
After 15 years of Cpap with a pressure of 10, I started having dry mouth a couple of months ago. Doctor asked me to go back through the sleep study. Bad news, apnea is much worse. New study indicates a new pressure of 16. The new pressure has made the problem worse, as I now cannot sleep on my back ...
