Unanticipated Side Effects of PAPpy

Post by ThirdOutOfFive » Tue May 29, 2012 3:52 pm

I have discovered a wonderful unanticipated side effect of PAPpy -- I no longer hear our severe midwestern thunderstorms. I sleep right through them. This is quite a blessing; I spent the first 61 years of my life (OK NOT my first year or so) pacing the house, checking weather reports, and being miserable. Now, I sleep!

Anyone else experience an unanticipated side effect -- good or bad?

I also sleep through thunderstorms. Also, a few days a go my wife asked me if I heard the coyote howling in our back yard during the night...I didn't. Before CPAP I was a very light sleeper.

The sound of the mask puts me right to sleep! I have always slept with a fan in my room for white noise from the time I was very little and grew up in HOT Florida, but now I live in the mountains and my newlywed husband hates the fan. I am hoping to lose the fan in time and just use the white calming noise of the xPap to lull me to la la land!

I was expecting it to keep me awake, but it's been the opposite for me!

We live about 200 feet from a busy railroad track.
I sleep through most trains--even when the window is open.
