Re: AirFit F20 hurts
I am like Froggy. The F20 would beat my nose up. I would put my old trusty Phillips Fitlife Total Face mask on for a while. It's been a few years on the Total mask. Dang... I haven't thought about going back.

Re: Is humidification necessary when the air is humid?
i asked myself this about 8 years ago. Ditching the humidifier was the best cpap decision I ever made. It was so liberating! But as was previously said, it's a comfort and personal decision. I say ditch it!

Re: new to Medicare
My original sleep study was from 2010, also. I have kept a copy so I was alright. You can get a new machine, but Medicare requires "doctors notes", stating that the patient is successfully using your cpap machine. Trust me, it's a nightmare. I ended up buying the machine out of my pocket, though Med...

You may also scratch your nose, if needed, while leaving the mask on.

Re: Inquiring minds
if it was me, I'd shy away from "all in one" places. As was stated, be sure you get a copy of your sleep report. I've been on cpap therapy almost 13 years, and I still get asked for my sleep study.

Re: What Do ENTs Recommend for Blocked Nostril
I have one side of my nostril blocked as long as i can remember. I have used a full face mask to compensate for it. I keep my mouth open all night long.

Re: Finding the right mask
I take a Melatonin tablet at night along with two Magnesium tablets. Tho' your body normally produces Melatonin, the level normally decreases as we age. Be careful. You can get in trouble, if you take too much.

I wouldn't chase the numbers. Set the pressure which feels comfortable.... and as long as your numbers are acceptable, you're good to go.

Re: can i get dr. to order resmed for me
As what was mentioned above, TELL the doctor to write on the prescription: -Resmed Airsense 11 (or whatever machine you want) - Your settings Get a copy. If he doesn't give you a copy, tell the doctor you need one because you may want to shop for a machine. Hopefully, the Doc will send it to the DME...

Re: Back Pain is.. Back! Really frustrated!
Slobber asked a good question. Your back and cpap usage, if possible, should remain separated. I have had 10 back surgeries in my life, with 6 back surgeries in the last 13 months. Long story-short, I am legally disabled with chronic back pain. As my doctor said, there is nothing much they can do fo...

Re: Astronomical Cost
Yea if you think about it, the machine is an air pump. I know the algorithms and all that, but even the straight cpap machines are high. I don't know. It is what it is.
