Is the game making up rules?

Or deleting someones post cuz YOU don't agree with it?

Ok I found it. Excerpts are quoted - the link to the full post is below.
johnnygoodman wrote:Some CPAPtalkers have been using the spam mechanism to delete posts from others members which they disagree with.

The full post can be found here - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=20895&p=179739#p179739

The poll (well one of them) is here -
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=67544&st=0&sk=t&sd= ... topic+poll

To the reader: So you need to ask yourself when someone doesn't put "ON Topic" in the subject line - why does it bother me?

Is it right to make new rules to satisfy me when I don't agree with something or should I take a poll. Maybe should I just delete what I don't agree with?

Need something to wash that corn down?

The benefit gained by being right is far outweighed by the loss from angering those around you. We all occasionally have to realize that to, "Win the battle but lose the war," isn't smart. Whether or not one should, or must, use OT falls in this category, IMO.
>this should be directed at those piling on gumby. is ot a big deal? give in here and the same clueless people will want categories tomorrow. give in again and the clueless will rule the world

the new people should know this is not a rule

xyz wrote:g:

The first line of his post is a "* you if you don't like it" statement.
The Alzheimer's must be in full force today. It's time to take away the computer.

mz:

It's more than that. It's an * saying that the rules don't apply to him.

g:

By that lame logic buying a computer at Best Buy is forum-related since you need a computer to access the forum.

ems:
> if the "rule" here is to put OT before anything that does not pertain to sleep apnea, then type OT!

People with huge egos often believe that rules are for "the little people" and don't apply to them.
Actually, there was a news report this week from a university saying _exactly_ that.

lrt:
> so you do know that your _race track fire_ and this should be marked OT.

Correct, he didn't mark the race track fire post as OT either.

Waiting for a "race track fires have something to do with forum use" post.

The sad part is that people who are new to this forum see the OT stuff and don't return.
They are, after all, looking for _medical_ advice.

Do the math.
About a gazillion websites for/about computer usage.
Few websites for OSA.
And none as good as this one.
why is it the only time you see xyz is when he is trolling troubles for someone?
>he thinks its a rule or wants the new people to think so. he thinks new people come here to read his negative comments about others.
>math? people cant figure out if something is ot and you want them to do what? lol
Vader wrote:I know I put OT on all of my Off topic posts, but a number of others here don't. What's the big deal?
Why all the piling on Gumby? I don't see people getting this irritated with others who neglect this supposed "rule".
Besides, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out what's off topic, and what isn't.

(why do I feel like someone will start a poll about whether OT posts must be marked OT)
the poll results from last year linked above
poll Would you like to see OT posts not related to xPAP banned from cpaptalk dot com?
Yes
81
36%

No
138
63%
gumby mustve done something else to make the masses mad. this is an example of gang behavior ems didnt know she was upset until she saw others were making a big deal of nothing.

Because the _first line_ of his post was an in-your-face, * you.

He's about ready for the nursing home.
It was actually the 2nd clue.

In case you haven't read what I posted it was intended to actually "HELP Others" - not inflame which is all I've seen you do.

I am an old member..seldom did post much, but still check in almost daily. I am always amused at the people who get uptight because of some OT or because it wasn't marked as such !Or even some of the other rants I have seen. Between being old and having worked with the public for 45 years I come to the conclusion that most people take theirselves to seriously. I rather enjoy the OTS that show up or even the ones that are surprises ! Anyone remember a few years back when one of our regulars posted some jokes about old people and it started a whole batch of jokes. Comedy central with CPAP masks ! I work daily with people that are going blind so that makes some of the compaints on here seem trivial !
Happy Breathing to you all !
