CPAPTalk.com Bugs? Tell Our Developers Here.

Hello everyone.

As you are probably aware, we moved cpaptalk.com to a new server early on Saturday morning.

As is common when a website is moved, there have been a few issues with regards to posting, PMs, and security certificates.

We are working hard to resolve these, but it would help us greatly if you could email myself (samuel.levy@cpap.com), John Nelson (john.nelson@cpap.com) and Johnny (johnny@cpap.com) examples of issues that you are having. Screenshots (pictures of your screen with the error), the time that it happened, and a list of the things you did leading up to the error would also be helpful for us to track down and resolve these issues.

Thanks, Sam.

If there is a way for you to edit the post title and change the font color to RED, it may draw folks' eyes up to this pinned request for info.

Can you please pin the Great Pillow Exchange to the top so it stops getting buried.

The problem with long posts seems to be fixed now.

Here is a working search for NREM: viewtopic/t69886/search.php?keywords=NREM

But a broken search for REM: search.php?keywords=REM

It's quite common for bulletin board software to limit searches to a minimum number of characters. It's usually configurable. Too short character strings can cause performance problems.

I don't know if this limit changed in the upgrade.

In the older version, if your search was too short, you were informed you need at least 3 letters.

cpaptalk with REM results in the search -- that's a major major prefromance issue in the non-technical aspect --

If it's configurable, in should be changed to let us search for 3 letter words.
And an error message should appear, not a psuedo result.

Hi

The security issue in the Chat Room has not been fixed. Anybody can still enter using any name they want.

So we still do not have certainty as to who we are talking to.

The name should be allied to the names password if the name is of a Forum member. Then we know that the name is the person we know from the Forum.

Then there is a choice as to what is allowed for non-members.

To allow them in with any name, or to record name and IP address and always match them before allowing entry, or not to allow them at all.

This may be a transient problem, but when I click on the "View Results" button under the mask challenge banner right now (Oct 17th, 2011), I get a page of what looks like repeated MySql errors.

Is there a better method for bringing issues like this to the attention of admins?

Thanks.

Not a bug, exactly, but a suggestion: Could you add SleepyHead to the list of software packages in the user profile editor?

Tried to update my original post with a long paragrah but it gave me an error, My Sql Error, something like that. It let me post a short 2-line reply. Pages downloading(uploading?) very slowly.

Review the first post in this thread. It reads like they want you to send an email rather than a post here or a PM, giving all the details you can.
Posting a copy of your email to them here will keep us all informed and maybe we can add additional info then.
