Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
Also make sure your circuit type on the Direct View configuration page reflects a "passive" circuit rather than "active"...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
If anyone wants to see reports/waveforms before giving an opinion, tell me what to upload and I will try to do it (as long as my computer behaves). Leak is one of Direct View's available data channels. How about adding the Leak line so we can see if leaks precipitate those pulsations on your flow g...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
The length of time these pulses last varies from a few seconds, to maybe 20-25 seconds. I do NOT believe any of them have lasted as long as 45 seconds. Okay. The train of pulsations in your above chart commence around the 08:13:05 point and complete around 08:13:50, give or take. I certainly wouldn...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
Following that solenoid-valve theory a bit... Perhaps the Trilogy firmware doesn't bother with solenoid-valve purges in AVAPS mode---but occasionally purges in AVAPS-AE mode. Additionally the bed-shifts might present the machine with pressure characteristics matching algorithmic criteria for a purg...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
OK new idea. Since everyone seems to get this chatter, it is limited in duration, and seems totally benign, perhaps it's the solenoid valve: Solenoid Valve - The sensor board uses a solenoid valve to auto null/vent the control pressure sensor to atmosphere periodically via port 1 of the plastic man...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
Min Leak: 33.1 Max Leak: 46.6 Avg Leak: 37.25 If this is to be believed and the guidelines I'm given accurate, then leaks cannot be the issue, right? Not necessarily. The algorithms are pretty good with near-constant leaks. However, small, transient leaks during breathing transitions are the ones t...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
Is it safe to assume that my electronics plugged into the cart most likely AREN'T the culprit? I'd definitely rule out your electronics... Those pulses probably aren't pressure-probes used to differentiate central from obstructive apneas either. Although the picture below is Resmed's forced oscilla...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
We'd need 180 oscillations every 3 seconds for 60 Hz. We can rule out electrical noise across the flow sensor leads...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
I'm game for that theory. However, electrical interference wouldn't manifest only when she shifts---unless she's moving a high-current device like a heating pad in the shifting process.
Madalot, do you have any high-current devices that might factor in as you shift?

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
One thing I DID notice this morning (while trying to decide whether to get up) was that this "pulsing" I'm experiencing on EXHALE (very weird thing might add) is happening after I shift. I tend to hold my breath (difficult for me to move and breath at the same time) and the pulsing was happening ev...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
Many thanks, Boots. Madalot, may I suggest taking a detour from changing auto-EPAP to fine-tune triggering and cycling?

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
Madalot, I don't think that pulsing during exhale is intentional pressure-probing. I could be wrong. I suspect it reflects a need to fine tune triggering the EPAP-to-IPAP transition, or fine tune cycling the IPAP-to-EPAP transition---or fine tune both machine transitions. These parameter definitions...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
Recap notes. 1) Madalot is gradually exploring an auto-EPAP range of 9cm through 12cm (auto-EPAP range applied against old AVAPS side-sleeping settings as baseline) 2) Waning tidal volumes might warrant increasing Max Pressure above 23cm (adjust PS-range's ceiling) 3) Over-ventilation or discomfort ...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
Jnk asked about a possible need to increase Max Pressure along the way. Madalot might have to. But I still recommend increasing Max Pressure only if tidal volumes wane a bit with any given Max EPAP increase, but especially when side-sleeping. With Min EPAP 9, Max EPAP 11, Min PS 9, Max PS 14, and Ma...

Re: Trilogy AVAPS-AE - Ongoing
Madalot, I think it's okay to increase every 3 or 4 days if you meet this criteria: 1) PTB and tidal volume numbers are consistently good, 2) you haven't presented much data variability---in any given week--- in the past, and 3) you're certain your medical staff does not object Your medical staff ne...
