Results of 1st night on S9 autoset for her....

Pugsy is going to post my graphs that I sent to her to decipher for me, because I wanted to share them with all of you. For a little bit of background, here are the findings of my sleep study: The total recording time was 483 minutes of sleep for a sleep efficiency rating of 76%. The sleep onset lat...

Re: Should I buy from DME or CPAP.com?? Please help

get it in writing the insurance will actually pay for a cpap.com purchase - don't just assume they are out of network provider I checked with my insurance earlier today and told them I was thinking about using cpap.com to purchase and they are sending me the claim form to fill out just in case I go...

Also, this is a machine that records full data, I know that, how can I access that data? It has some onscreen data, but not sure what exactly.

Should I buy from DME or CPAP.com?? Please help

I am thinking about purchasing the Resmed S9 Auto For Her. But I'm debating on whether or not to go with my DME which insurance will pay 80% of the cost. Or get my machine from CPAP.com and let the insurance reimburse me for 60%. The DME tells me that all cpap/apap machines are $1500, heated humidif...

Please help!

I was reading the other day on here a list of things to ask my insurer before dealing with the DME and meant to bookmark it, but I forgot. Now I'm ready to call and can't find it. Where is it at??

Re: Update on insurance and DME

I have also read that it contributes to alzheimers. Before I was diagnosed, I was certain I did NOT have apnea! I didn't have any of the typical symptoms, no snoring, no waking up gasping for air per my husband, etc. The only reason my doc sent me for a sleep study was because of my daytime sleepine...

Re: Update on insurance and DME

LOL! I don't know why it's hidden from my info, but I'm in Georgia and have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Ga. I too have had memory problems and being as my mom has alzheimers, I was seriously afraid I was getting it early. Turns out apnea is causing my memory loss and loss of concentration. That was a ...

Update on insurance and DME

Well, as it turns out, I was wrong, and BCBS of GA is NOT showing that I've met my deductible through my previous insurance. So, while I am waiting for them to get this mess worked out, I decided to call around to area DME's to see which one was willing to provide me with the machine I want....the R...

Re: Does Dr. have to prescribe an auto cpap?

I just called the doctors office and spoke with someone that is going to talk to him tomorrow and see if he'll ok the Resmed S9 autoset or the Respironics PRS1 auto. She acted like it will be no problem at all, like all I had to do was ask. So, we'll see what happens with that. If she can get the ok...

Re: Does Dr. have to prescribe an auto cpap?

Thanks John. I'll be sure and read all I can before Thursday. I just called the DME back and she said that they mostly sell the Respironics System 1 PR series. She said the Resmed S9 autoset is available, but the doctor has to request it specifically and they only order in a few of those at a time a...

Re: Does Dr. have to prescribe an auto cpap?

Also, does is every machine capable of recording full data? I've learned from here that I need one that reads full data, not just compliance data.

Does Dr. have to prescribe an auto cpap?

Good news!! BCBS has recieved my info from Pharmacy Trust and is showing that I have met my deductible and my out of pocket expense! I called my DME to set up my appointment and I started bombarding her with questions. LOL I've read on here to ask certain questions. First I asked if they were gonna ...

Re: Can you believe this crap????

Thank you all for your responses! I am hoping and praying that this will all work out. Surely they will give me credit for meeting my deductible! I just hope it doesn't delay getting my cpap for very long. I will definately consider ordering from cpap.com if I need to.
