Re: rent to own XPAP equipment
Just the 12 payments of $10.50/month. The insurance contracted price with the DME is $630. 20% of that is $126, divided by 12 is $10.50. If your insurance company has a 3 month rent to own period, then you should check to make sure there aren't any surprises at the end of the 3 months. Your DME shou...

Re: Swift 2 Exhaust
I know that the angle of the exhaust vent is a consistent complaint with the swift fx nasal pillows, so maybe the same angle problem exists with the swift 2? I know that I had problems with the exhaust blowing on my arms from the swift fx, since it is angled downward. I was also having some problems...

Re: rent to own XPAP equipment
In retail, rent to own generally is the most expensive way to buy something. But if you have insurance, then it's probably cheaper to do the rent to own through the insurance than buying it online without insurance. My insurance only does 12-month rent to own. My copay for each month is $10.50. No w...

Re: Feeling different yet? Thoughts?
This depends on several factors. First, how did you feel before you started CPAP? Were you dead tired exhausted falling asleep all the time, or did you go in because somebody made you even though you didn't feel like you had any symptoms? I have been on my CPAP for 1.5 weeks, and I felt a difference...

Re: BEST/Newest Machine to get
Did you recently have a pressure change? I noticed that my machine sounded louder when my pressure got bumped up. I think resmed does advertise having the quietest machine, but before going through the trouble of exchanging it, I would make sure that it's really quieter, and that there's nothing wro...

Re: Encore, Sleepyhead, and Onkor head-to-head
There shouldn't be too much trouble with the data being merged vs. split, since all of my nights were single sessions except the first two. The first night I wore it for about an hour sitting up in a chair before going to bed, so that first night could be off by a bit because of the additional sessi...

Re: Was anyone else not allowed to talk to their sleep doctor?
I saw my sleep doctor before my sleep study, and then they weren't going to let me see or talk to her again until I'd been on CPAP for 3 months. But I learned that if you pitch a big enough fit, they cave. I got in to see the doctor the next week, got the direct phone number for her PA, and the doct...

Re: Newbie and Onkor
The pressure pulse is when you stop breathing for a short period, the machine sends a pulse of air to see if your airway is open or closed. That way, if the apnea is long enough to be classified as an apnea, the machine can say whether it was an obstructive apnea (your airway was closed off) or a ce...

Re: Encore, Sleepyhead, and Onkor head-to-head
Yes, you are correct... I am currently running in straight CPAP mode. I had to fight just to get the APAP, but my doctor hasn't mentioned at all using it in APAP mode. I think she just wrote the prescription for it to humor me. So that explains the lack of flow limitations. I'm not too worried about...

Encore, Sleepyhead, and Onkor head-to-head
My doctor is rather resistant to me looking at my own data. Her PA is more sympathetic, at least. Today I went in to get my card read and her PA gave me a printout to compare to what I'm seeing at home. I was surprised at some of the differences. Sometimes they are all pretty close, and other times ...
