Anyone try provent?
I like to pop in here occastionally and see if anyone has success with provent therapy? I unfortunately never tolerated cpap. Anyone know if aetna covers provent? Also, I read that "Each one has a small hole that is covered with a fine mesh-like material. It lets you breathe in normally, but when yo...

Provent therapy advice
I just saw a piece on the news about this provent. Wondering how many people on here have had any success with it?....
Also, would a regular primary care Dr be able to write a prescription for this or does it need to be from a sleep Dr etc? Where is a good place to order the 10 day trial from?

Congrats!Cuda wrote:My one year pre-exist is up! Hip Hip Hooray! I am now covered for sleep apnea (and related illnesses).
Of course within that year I purchased everything I needed and self-diagnosed and treated myself but better late than never!
If I may ask, how much did it cost you?

Re: Combatting apneas affects on mental functions
Many good suggests for you Axxel... My Mom has done crossword puzzles for as long as I can remember and her memory is better then mine. Unfortunately not all of us can be as physically active as we would like. But I still try and ride my Airdyne bike daily. There are a number of smart drugs and her...

Re: Combatting apneas affects on mental functions
Thanks nanwilson and carbonman! I actually do exercise daily as much as my body can currently tolerate (rehabbing shoulder injuries). It helps immensely. Especially when doing anything cardio like that gets my heart rate up. I feel so much better overall afterward. Emotionally and physically. I will...

Re: Combatting apneas affects on mental functions
I think it's like Cliff (from Cheers) Buffalo theory... "Well, you see, Norm, it's like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it's the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd...

Re: Combatting apneas affects on mental functions
I don't have any solutions, but I do have plenty of green tea. I share the same concerns as you as I still feel tired, forget many things, and often lack the emotional and mental motivation and stamina to excel at my work. I'll be following along with you, you're not alone. Its scary I tell ya. And...

Combatting apneas affects on mental functions
Aside from effective cpap therapy, has anyone experienced any ways to help with memory loss, and the other mental problems apnea can cause?
I have read green tea can help protect brain cells. I wonder about this and anything else that may help.
My memory has suffered from this dam apnea.

If the remnants left behind wont slow me down, I'll leave it be. It is possible that enough bits and pieces could slow the computer down. Especially upon startup. This is why it is recommended that we use some sort of cleaning program every now and then and also do a defrag every now and then. I us...

Re: virus detected
When you referred to nortons remnants left behind after uninstalling norton, what problems have you run into with that? Have they slowed down your computer? I am eventually going to remove it when my free subscription runs out. Just curious what problems it causes when one is not able to completely...

I have nortan a/v and no problems here. Although, I have my password and login saved in firefox, so it logs me in auto. Did you just upgrade to firefox 7? I think it's a beta still. My wifes computer was acting funny from it yesterday. 1. I strongly suggest to all you drop Norton, yes it catches al...

Re: POLL/Study:Emotional/Mental Problems - Does Counselling Help
Everyone's different. Some benefit from talk therapy, some don't. It doesn't replace necessary medications or medical treatment. I have OCD. Talk therapy helps me to learn how to train my thinking. Something very important to me is finding Dr's, therapists, and counselors that care about their patie...
