Re: Talk me into getting back on it
The spontaneous arousals and UARS, in addition to the moderate to mild desaturations show you need SOME treatment. Your doctor seems to think continuing CPAP will help--maybe it will (I'd give it a shot--you still have the machine) Since event scoring is based on a minimum time, you may have had MA...

Re: Talk me into getting back on it
Since you're not sleeping well, going back on CPAP makes sense. My only concern is whether using the nasal pillows is okay so soon after having surgery for a deviated septum. It's been over 4 months. Did your ENT explain to you that swelling from a devaited septum can take a few months to go away. ...

Talk me into getting back on it
Ive been off my machine since December when I had deviated septum surgery. I'm feeling a bit better but still tired and yawn a lot. My doc did a study and my AHI was at 0, but he did say my brain is waking me up every 30 seconds due to shallow breathing, most likely UARS. He said to try living with ...

Re: Had another study last night
So the doc said my study shows almost no AHI (like 1/hour) however my O2 sat is baseline 95.1% but lowest was 87.3%. He said I definitely still have some events or arousals pretty often that's causing disturbed sleep. He said it's likely more UARS than OSA. He said I should try a dental appliance if...

Re: Had another study last night
Dental appliances aren't used in people with normal sleep study results. Maybe the tech meant something like your oxygen saturations were normal, but you are still having arousals due to respiratory events? Repost when you get the results. That's what it sounded like... I'll post the report tomorro...

Had another study last night
I'm 2 months out from my deviated septum surgery, and am sleeping quite a bit better (and not using cpap.) My sleep doc ordered another study to see if I in fact do need to continue to use cpap. I had the study last night and see the doc tomorrow, but the tech said my AHI was well down within normal...

Re: Gonna have Deviated Septum surgery
Had it this morning... It's pretty uncomfy, but not too much pain per se. Lots of gooing out of it
I can already tell I can breathe better in the one side.... Grt my stints out Monday, and no cpap until then.

Re: So, I was thinking about my diagnosis....
My ENT pointed out to me when discussing my deviated septum that my sleep study shows all hypopnea's. So today I relooked at the 2 studies I had, and both are all hypopneas, NO apneas whatsoever. If you had an in-lab sleep test, it won't show any hypopneas unless you had a blood oxygen desaturation...

My ENT pointed out to me when discussing my deviated septum that my sleep study shows all hypopnea's. So today I relooked at the 2 studies I had, and both are all hypopneas, NO apneas whatsoever. Does this mean I don't have OSA, but just have trouble breathing? Could it mean that the surgery could h...

Re: Gonna have Deviated Septum surgery
Best wishes for a successful surgery. I hope your recovery goes well, and you are able to either reduce pressure, use a different mask, or best--stop cpap. Don't be too surprised if you must continue using it, though.... surgery only works for a small % of folks. Yea I'm definitely not going in ass...
