Re: Thoughts on the Sleepweaver textile mask please
Sleepweaver is my mask of choice. Its extremely comfortable and works wonderfully for me. With the new redesign my leak lines are darn near ZERO! However, that said -- the Sleepweaver will either work for you or it won't -- no real in between, very little in the way of tweaking to make or get it to ...

Re: OT - You Didn't Build It
Okay let's look at this from a different perspective. Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that a successful business owner "didn't build it" So what IS the difference between a failed business and a very successful one? Is "society" prejudiced, do they provide and withhold their "help" on some w...

Re: Pilairo!
Okay as promised I'll weigh in with my thoughts. For reference my primary number one mask is (and has been for over a year) the Sleepweaver but lately I've been alternating between it and the Aloha on a fairly regular basis (like 2-3 nights in one then 2-3 nights in the other). Last night was first ...

Re: Pilairo!
Let's see, if I remember right Sylvie said her pressure was at 7. According to F&P the vent rate on the Pilairo at 7 is 26. Sylvie says she's seeing a straight line at 27 -- my guess is she has no leaks -- she's seeing the straight line vent rate of the mask. Here's the list of vent rates published ...

Re: Pilairo!
Several have commented on the Pilairo vs. the SleepWeaver Elan mask. I have not tried the Elan, but have had a wonderful experience with the SleepWeaver Advance Nasal Mask. The comments about the SleepWeaver blowing air into the eyes is not something I've experienced, so the rating on the SleepWeave...

Re: Supreme Court and the Individual Mandate
Uh, oh! Do you realize that our Supreme Court Justices (and their paralegals) are the onliest peoples who have read each and every page of the Act? How else could they have ruled on the Constitutionality of the Act? Are you sure they read it Slinky? I mean, "its a tax is why its legal and we can ru...

Re: Supreme Court and the Individual Mandate
The whole paradigm with regards to employer provided health care changes with the advent of government provided/mandated health care. The Frog is correct in that "Availability (and quality) of employer-provided health insurance is a major factor in recruitment and retention." however, that was in an...

Re: Supreme Court and the Individual Mandate
One of the major fallacies of this plan is the statements that if you currently have private, employer sponsoired health insurance (which generally provides greater coverage than medicare and the plans offered up by the plan) you will be able to keep it. Factually, that's true BUT where it fails is ...

Re: Sleeping with élan
You are welcome, Portiemom. Due to Circadience's 30 day free return insurance, you may have a wait. Cokomo: (re: full face musings) That has occurred to me as well; A big obstacle, I believe, would be the aerodynamics of an anti-asphyxiation valve, and how to maintain cushion shape with a sudden lo...

Re: Sleeping with élan
That's pretty much the way it is with the original as well -- when it works its nirvana when it doesn't its just nerve-wracking. And I've had those nights where last night it was perfect yet tonight it just isn't going to work no matter what -- those nights its really good to have another mask you a...

Re: Sleeping with élan
Okay -- back with my input after trying it this weekend. Decided to try it after hearing the great success the Frog's having with it. But, as we all know YMMV and mine certainly did. For me, ain't no way, simply appears it isn't going to work. After trying it out and working with it to start out thr...

Re: Sleeping with élan
The $0 return insurance has been that way on the SW for as long as I can remember -- I bought my first SW over a year ago and it was that way.

Re: Sleeping with élan
My Elan came in the mail yesterday -- I'll probably give it a first try over the weekend. I'll let you all know how it goes. On the other subject -- leaks were back down in the 1.5 range with the new SW last night again -- I suspect that one night was an aberration. Looks like the new one will conti...

Re: CPAP Cost Unusually Low?
Could be a case of billed at $2400 to insurance with patient portion of $335 therefore they quote you the $335. Pretty much the DME doesn't know what your deductible is and has no clue as to whether you have met it So they bill insurance their portion -- bill you your portion and when Insurance EOB ...

Re: Sleeping with élan
Thanks for the report chunkyfrog - have been wondering how the new SW mask fares. I'll be up for a new mask in a few months and trying to decide between the Aloha and élan. cheers, xena Hey Blue -- how are you faring with the redesigned seal on the SW? I finally got one (been playing with the Aloha...
