Re: OT Sort of: My colonoscopy and CPAP

Oh, yes, how could I forget the "pre drink" the night before the Colonoscopy...I truly believe it is worse than the test. I have put it in fridge, as suggested by pharmacist, and it helped some...one thing that would help with the "end result" i determined later...is several days before the test an...

Re: CPAP Camping

Glad to hear there are others who also were CPAP campers. That was one of our worries when I got my machine. We had always camped in tent without electric...then Oops, the CPAP came along. We looked into using the battery with vehicle, etc. sounded good, but we made the step up to camp with electri...

Re: How can i stop mouth puffs ???

WOW-Blue tape and panty hose!! Now for mouth puffs, I have them more since my pressure is 17. I had them when I was a 10, but not often. The only way to stop them-or a full blow out of the mask-is for me to sleep holding my (full face) mask on the side. I have slept with one hand on my mask for 11 ...

Re: OT Sort of: My colonoscopy and CPAP

Great input! Since being on CPAP, I have had 9 hr. surgery, plus 2 colonoscopies, knee surgery, and several small surgeries of being out. Each time they insisted I bring CPAP, and I did, but it was not needed due to the great monitoring the hospital staff did. Of course, if you know you will stay t...

Surgery did not work

Sorry the surgery did not work, I know when I was newly diagnosed I wanted the surgery too, as most people decide they will and and Shazam, be all better....not so. If no insurance is keeping you from a sleep test/cpap, try medicade, I know they pay for those options, and you sound as if you need it...

DME's etc.,

Sorry to hear such a horror story, I suppose I am more blessed than I knew. I have not had any issues with the DME or insurance - I am not self insured and the insurance has been great with paying what I need. My first CPAP, the DME made the decision of what I needed, this time, 5 yrs. later I asked...

Toddler vs Cpap

I am so happy to hear things are better, it won't be long and it will be old news to have the Cpap running...what a great idea to have her help clean the mask..kids are curious, we all are afraid of something we are not familiar with, hang in there, it will all come together.

To Ramp Or Not ToRamp, That is the...

I have used my ramp since I have had a cpap, 6 yrs. I am now at 17cm, and the air is too blasting and too noisy, this is good for me to go to sleep, helps me relax while the pressure is low, I have never found I need more air during the ramp time, I used to have a ramp of only 10 min and I was alway...

Acupuncture and Sleep Apnea?

Hi, I have had acupuncture for a few things, pain in shoulder/neck, knees and TMJ all successful, but not for Sleep Apnea, my Chiro knows I have apnea and he has never suggested it to be something Acupuncture could help. Have you tried it and are you going to check on it , I would be curious to see ...

Kids and CPAP

Hi, I am a grandmother and I teach Sunday School, and I find kids are curious. So what I have done is have them see the machine off, then turn it on and let them feel the air flow, then put the ramp on and let them see how is is less air and quitier....make a game, but let them place the mask by the...

Cpap Excersices

I have not heard of excercises to stop the apnea; I did lose weight after I was diagnosed almost 7 yrs ago, and got to my normal weight, then I had a new sleep study,,,no luck, so depressing, I will have the cpap for life, the way my jaw sets and my throat. I know some people think just because you ...

Back Pain & Women

Yes, I had blamed many other things on my "tired" and mood swing days, and eventually, I was convinced to have a sleep study;my brother has apnea, then many things made sense to me, but women usually, take it and go on, we don't always pursue a pain when we should. Have a good one. Love this forum A...

Mask Laughter

Your entire body will shut down, including your heart and all of your vital organs are affected when this happens,,,,kidneys, lungs, heart, etc. Who is laughing and why, I...
