Which is best or better, and why? I have a Mirage Quattro, and saw this new mask & was wondering if I needed to switch?

Re: mask leaks
I was getting leaks also, I could hear them when I had my mask on. Turned out that the cats in our family(4), had chewed on the hose causing holes. Used DUCT tape to wrap the hose and so far it is working. Need to find something to prevent the cats from chewing on the hose.

Adjustable Sleep Number bed is worth considering, you can adjust the firmness, raise and lower both the head & foot area.

Re: Where to put cpap machine?
I put mine on the bed side table( nightstand ) , and run the hose thru a clip attached to the headboard. I have been a CPAPer for over a year, and only had a couple of nights with any water in my mask & I don't know if it was rainout or droll? I don't use my mask if I have a cold since my nasal pass...

Re: How do you sleep with your mask with a head cold?
I don't sleep with my mask on if I am coming down with a cold. My sinus swell up and I can only breath thru my mouth, I dope up with the OTC meds for colds, and try to sleep it off. Have to be careful, because sometimes get a bloody nose only on my right nostril. Usually can kick it in a couple of d...

Re: Humidity and water consumption
I use about one gallon of distilled water in around 23 to 28 days, just doing refills. The amount of water varies from day to day on the usage, don't completely empty the water from the previous night, just refill daily. Clean daily with unscented baby wipes and everything is working ok. Wipe down m...

Re: CPAP Cleaners?
Try Walgreens generic baby wipes, unscented. Contains around 78 wipes per box/container. Usually less than $5.00 per container. Use them to wipe down my CPAP equipment, and mask. No problem with skin reactions, mold growing, etc.

Re: best painkillers to use with sleep apnea?
Check out the OTC Walgreens Arthritis Pain Reliever , it is 650 mg of Acetaminophen. I found out that this is better than other OTC pain relievers due to the higher level of the pill/caplets at 650 mg while the other OTCs only go up to 500 mg for the extra strength.

Re: Which Machine?
Check out my equipment, have had it about one year and no complains yet. My EPR is turned off. Use the ResMed software to read my SD card and it provides lots of good info. I may not know everything it is telling me, but my Doctor is happy with my progress. Now using an sleep number bed that adjusts...

Re: Question about Citrus Wipes
Go to Walgreen and get some unscented baby wipes. Will you get tired of breathing the citrus smell, or would it make you sick if you were breathing it for a long time? Something to think about.

Hot Head
Does your head got hot laying on the pillow at night? Found a solution - Chillow Pillow (Chillow.com). It is a flat plastic two sided pillow that you activate with water, then you can sleep on it, or put it inside your pillow case. It keep your head cool while you are sleeping, I found out that it w...

Re: New to CPAP (5 Nights) FFM vs. Nasal Pillows Mouth Breather
I have been a CPAPer since last October and use a FFM(see equipment at bottom of post). It takes time to get use to the mask, so hang in there. I am a side and stomach sleeper, use a CPAP pillow since the wife said I snored and stopped breathing for a time when I was asleep. Since I have been on the...

I have been a hose head since October 2012- I use distilled water in my equipment, and Walgreen generic unscented baby wipes and never had any problems . No build up of any dirt, germs, etc so far - live with four cats, ceiling fans going 24 hrs a day, no dust on equipment.

Re: Just been diagnosed help this newbie
Check out my equipment, have been a hose head since last October 2012. Using only distilled water in my machine, and generic unscented baby wipes to clean from Walgreens. Has worked well for me, a mouth breather & a side/stomach sleeper.
Good luck.
