"SAN DIEGO, May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ResMed (NYSE: RMD) today released the ResMed Sleep Assessment app, a novel new app for iPhone that lets users record themselves during sleep. The app also includes a clinically validated questionnaire that assesses their risk and other helpful features to empower users to discuss their sleep health with their physician."

Cool! This also flies in the face of the dumb assumption that 'pappers are all old fat guys with no technical inclination.

Now if only they would release the ResScan SOFTWARE to patients so we could track progress AFTER diagnosis LOL

I'd be nice to have an app (in my case for Android) that would upload (via bluetooth) S9 Autoset data. That app could would then do the ResScan thing.

As expensive as the machines are, the software and display of results should be built into the machines' display. Why should my CPAP be dumber than my phone?

My doctor is not supervising my use of the software, and as such this would be a direct violation of the licensing agreement.

Dude, if a doc wrote the Rx, you ARE "under the supervision" of a doc. "Appropriately trained" doc? Maybe not. But that's not on you.

Ozij's point, as I read her, is that the software-download page is in the section of ResMed's site that is for patients, not just the section for clinicians. Therefore, the software has been released to patients and made available to patients.

I also have been known to accidentally and momentarily go 31 mph in a 30 mph zone, though, so maybe my conscience is just totally shot!

JNK, true, I just get uneasy with how ResMed refuses to create a patient-focused version of the software. If I wasn't in this forum, I'd never be able to figure out how to use this thing.

He is, and it would not be, if you showed him some data when [interrupted by my bluetick coonhound killing a rat - quite a ruckus!] you see him once a year. Or just tell your doctor that you have the software and will let him know if you see any changes in the effectiveness of your treatment. Or just make a decision that you will bring any changes to the attention of your doctor. This is a no-brainer. Yes, it annoys me when non-lawyers presume to give legal opinions.
