Kajun, Working in Human Resources, unfortunately I know all about our litigation happy society. And I agree with you, we should be careful to answer questions with "this is my experience" and the usual "YMMV" that I've seen many people use. Absolutely, we are here to help and give advice and support...

Thanks

Thanks, Ozij and Kajun! I do have the Silverlining software, and had forgotten that Resmed no longer sells it. I doubt the DME would sell it to us, but we can ask. Of course, despite my having the software I haven't seemed to get around to installing it and using it..... I know, my bad They did tell...

Thanks again

Kansas RT - thanks for the info. That was my thought, that they could order something else, but wasn't sure. Hubby is going to try and stop by this evening, just to see what they have and ask some more questions before we commit to anything. He did say the sleep tech at his titration study commented...

Hubby new to CPAP, I use PB 420E, DME saying S8 Elite

I've been on my CPAP for about a year now, and I use a Puritan Bennett 420E, very happily. My hubby recently had his sleep study and will be on CPAP as well. My recommendation was to use the same model - parts interchangeable, I know how to work it, etc. However, the DME says they ONLY carry Resmed ...

Count me in

I'm another non-snorer, but have probably had at least mild apnea since a kid, looking back now. Glad I finally got a doctor that decided my tiredness despite lack of snoring merited a sleep test.

Happily hosing,

Failure for me

I fought the Breeze for almost 2 months - tried all the "tricks" of adjusting, used the Ayr gel, etc. I could never get my nose to adjust to the pillows, plus I would get it not to leak for awhile then fall asleep deeper and suddenly have leaks and couldn't get it readjusted. It got thrown across th...

Keep working on him

Lisa, Persistence can be the key. I've thought my hubby had apnea for quite awhile. Last year when I was so tired and thyroid medicine didn't help it - doctor sent me for a sleep study. I figured - I'll sleep great there and they'll find out hubby is keeping me awake. Well, no, I have apnea. So, a y...

Me too - no tonsils

I had my tonsils and adenoids out when I was 4 due to hearing problems, of all things. I snored prior to that but never after - but have moderate apnea. I always thought hubby was the apneac - and guess what, finally got him to go for his sleep study and he'll be joining me soon with his mask and ma...

I don't know all your specifics, but as long as you're going through your doctor for the CPAP prescription and to order sleep tests, I don't see any issues. I started with a straight CPAP and later bought an auto on my own. I still order my replacement equipment - filters, masks, hoses, etc. using i...

I have the Puritan Bennett 420G and have traveled with it several times. It's fairly light, and I can fit my mask and extension cord in the side pouch of the bag. Just be sure if you take the humidifier that it's dry when you pack it. I've never had any issues personally, but I've read some posts of...

Thanks for sharing the survey, Johnny. I haven't been on in awhile, and saw this posting. I went and added my 2 cents to the survey - here are my comments: "The requirement to ensure adequate care belongs to an individual's physician, in partnership with the patient. Whether patients get their equip...

I'm an HR Manager - been working in HR for 15 + years and most of the time, I love my job. At my current company, our warehouse crew calls me "the nice HR lady". Apparently, at their previous company HR was mean! I figure it's my role to make folks successful in their jobs - the managers, the employ...

If you haven't opened the package - most places will take it back - the key is that the seal hasn't been broken. I would try calling the company you bought it from first - you may just be able to return it.

If not, hope you find a buyer!
