Re: What do you do with your hose?
Geez, kind of a personal question to ask a guy. But I guess we're among friends. For the most part. Since you asked, I'm more comfortable wearing boxers. Less restriction, especially in hot weather. In case you might be interested in my xPAP as well, I found wrapping the hose in a flannel cozy elimi...

Re: Resmed P10 replacement
I've had an ongoing love/hate relationship with my 2 P10s since they came out. The headgear lacks buckles, so overall I guess it's more comfortable than adjustable headgear. But it tends to lose its tension with time, and by that, I mean 2-3 years. And the air exhaust diffuser makes for a quieter ma...

Re: OT: Diabetes forum
There's a real need for proper education of folks on diabetes. We've been lied to for many years by the ADA, AHA, AMA, ADD, DEA, and the FBI. Example: My 88 year old Mom had a silent heart attack last Winter. Her first and only one. She had angioplasty and a stent placed. While she was hospitalized,...

Re: Just purchased my first CPAP....HELP
Last week I bought a used machine for backup. It had been used only 10 hours, and spent the rest of the time in its bag in a closet. When I got it home and opened the bag (Resmed S9 Autoset) the bag and machine did, indeed, smell like the inside of someone's closet. Sweaty sneakers. I removed all th...

Re: Distilled water
After about half the bottle was used, I cleaned out the humidifier reservoir and found it was coated with mineral scale. Either the bottle was mislabeled or, well, something. That sounds kind of suspicious. Seems like the water wouldn't pass even the most basic electrical resistance QA test if the ...

Re: Is there any cheaper oximetry solution for ResMed machines?
Absent evidence of significant oxygen desaturation events, as in the instance you cited, I'd agree with you. However when someone is spending time down in the 60s for significant periods each night, I think at that point it's more important to focus one's efforts on getting the oxygen level up.

Re: Newbie here—Just diagnosed and CPAP coming in 5 days
Just read through your post. Your beginning numbers and oximetry are same as mine at the beginning. I found immediate relief after getting my machine. I mean, the morning after I woke up almost giddy with relief. My titration study said I needed 10.5 pressure. My sleep doc doesn't believe in APAP ma...

Re: Distilled water
I've been using deionized water from the pharma lab where I worked for 30 years in my H5i reservoir. Company got bought and I found myself on early retirement. So I no longer had access to free DI water. So I picked up a bottle of Arrowhead Distilled Water at the supermarket. After about half the bo...

Re: Is there any cheaper oximetry solution for ResMed machines?
Several years ago I did just that with a CMS50e. Pulmonologist was speechless when I brought into him a week's worth of ResScan data with corresponding oxymetry graphs. He kept saying, "This is wonderful!" But the oximeter display died and I stopped caring about my numbers because they were so consi...

I'm glad someone finally said that. Reanimating a years old thread and breathing life into it is very trollish behavior.

Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for. A real live person who has actually signed up for, and used, a healthsharing ministry. I'll spend some more time online.

Re: OT/Political: Gun Control Laws
Damn straight! Politics brings out the absolute worst in people, and the duplicity which the Panel-meister openly displayed in SoWell's initial post evidence of that. The end-game of Politics is about controlling others. Bending their will to yours. And what people call "leadership," which sounds li...

Julie, I think maybe what you missed is that making any reference to the melanin content of anyone's skin, or the way they speak is, by some people, called microaggression. https://nationalpost.com/news/world/on-some-u-s-campuses-asking-where-are-you-from-is-considered-a-microaggression Doing such p...

Re: Tired and not as fresh as I was a few days ago
Great. I'm not familiar with Sleepyhead, but it seems to be the standard software on this forum; I use ResScan. But posting your data will allow a bunch of folks here to weigh in.
