I managed to disassemble my PB330 BiLevel & in particular got to the fan.
This is amazing technology. I would say it may be the most amazing fan in any xPAP (certainly based on what I have seen todate). It is so tiny, quiet but this little baby can peak at 40cms. The various BiLevel pressures are delivered wholly & solely by varying the speed of the fan. There is no air solenoid in the PB330 as there is in the Remstar BiPap Pro2.
I am guessing that all manufacturers are now adopting controlled fans & dispensing with the other more expensive mechanisms (such as the air control solenoid - which does an excellent job but is more expensive to include in an xPAP design).
Note that this unit has a second very tiny fan for cooling the powersupply components.
The other thing that caught my attention was that there are only 3 wires going into this fan. Many others had at least 5 wires (I was assuming 2 were for a tachometer but I can't say for sure.)
