Re: 30 years of OSA therapy. Where do I go next??
I wonder if the nature of the root cause of the high CO2 levels in your specific case may be key somehow, or may point to machine needs or contraindications for certain machines. I am certainly not qualified to parse any of that. Maybe putting words like ASV, hypercapnia, opiates, etc. into your sub...

Re: Recent study indicates increased morbidity and VPAP ADAPT SV
Remember how science works, though. It would be easy for a study to seem to "prove" statistically that pain-killers "cause" headaches, since people with headaches generally take pain-killers. Actually overuse of pain-killers to treat chronic headache pain has been shown to trigger rebound heachache...

Re: Uncompassionate company tht supplies health care products
As a compassionate man, I refuse to charge money for what I do.
But if your approach to life is what you claim it is, then I wish you well with that and hope your job can buy you all the love you deserve and can afford.
How's that for a compassionless reply?

Re: Do Allergies Cause Sleep Apnea?
CPAP machines have replaceable filters at the point of air intake. Some machines allow for the purchase of especially fine filters that supposedly can filter out pollen along with house dust, but technically those filters should be replaced more often than the normal filters, I believe. The humidit...

Re: Uncompassionate company tht supplies health care products
The vast majority of companies I deal with treat me quite well. I still don't consider any of the companies to love me, any more than I consider the corner ATM to love me, despite the money it gives me when I ask nicely in the proper way. Business relationships are not about compassion, and compassi...

@ Goofproof: Why not use one of the vastly superior NYC film crews?
Dang. They're within walking distance. It gets more tempting.
However, I am not in the initial stages of treatment.

Re: Recent study indicates increased morbidity and VPAP ADAPT SV
I skimmed the article and didn't see anything regarding exactly HOW ASV use can increase morbidity. How the heck can a machine that assists in breathing and sustained oxygen levels increase morbidity? No one really knows if it does yet. However, there is enough evidence from one study to suggest th...

Re: Happy Birthday Chunky Frog!
How long is a frog year? And is the date of birth the date the egg is laid, the date it is fertilized, the date the tadpole appears, or the date the transformation into frog is complete? This was not covered in any biology class I attended. TIA for any clarification.

Re: Do Allergies Cause Sleep Apnea?
Do Allergies Cause Sleep Apnea? Anything that affects the size, sensitivity, and/or performance of the airway can affect how you breathe during the day and especially at night. So bad allergies can be considered a factor. But they are not generally considered a lone primary cause, unless a patient ...

Re: Uncompassionate company tht supplies health care products
I have met many compassionate people over the years. I have yet to "meet" one compassionate company. Companies may be made up of humans, but that doesn't make companies human. Companies are in business to remain in business. Companies may pay an employee to present the face of compassion to customer...

Re: Negative home tests, a dud?
I think I'm missing something, tiredandscared. You are provoking a lot of fear and appear to be stressing yourself about this. Your results technically say you do not have sleep apnea. I'm not the only one that's starting to wonder of T&S is just trolling us. It would be very elaborate trolling. If...
