I don't have a battery backup, 'cause in 7 years... I've had 1 outage that lasted overnight... and I didn't really sleep then either.

Interesting. I'm not sure how I would do that. Do you know how my machine is set up? Is the phone line the piece I remove when I take out my SD card? Or should I remove the modem, itself? There are only two cords: the one running from the outlet to the power box (sorry I don't have the correct term for this: the piece is not labeled, and a labeled drawing does not accompany the user's guide. It's a 3" X 5" X 1" black box) and the one running from the power box to the machine.
Epworth Sleepiness Scale: 14
Diagnostic study: overall AHI: 0.2 events/hour; overall RDI: 45 events/hour
Titration study: AHI: 6.1; RDI: 27; CPAP pressures: 5-8cm

If there is no phone cord, then there isn't a modem that needs to be worried about.

If there's not a wire that runs out and plugs into a telephone jack, you don't have a modem/lighting problem.

I'm not sure what the modem on a PRS1 machine looks like. If you have one and don't have a phone line hooked to it, it's probably not doing any harm. Does anyone know where the PRS1 modem attaches and what it looks like.

we have drifted off topic
you need to remove pulg from powerpoint/outlet to protect whatever

if I had a battery back up I would use it during storms

we seldom lose power here, but when we did once and I was soundly asleep with my nose only mask, I eventually woke due to the extra effort needed to breathe and found that I hadnt opened my mouth, this surprised me
