Re: Resmed9 w H5I for sale / 21 hours of use $600

Are you sure you actually own it? Or is the insurance company going to ask for it back with that level of compliance?

Aside from the valid points above that (1) there are ways to get used to using it and (2) the asking price is ridiculous.

Re: Asleep at the wheel

I fell asleep at a stoplight--just for a second--the day after Christmas 2010. The next day, I made an appointment with my doctor, which led to me getting my CPAP machine in early February.

Re: Semi OT - Huh?/Advice from a dietician

Unfortunately, most dietitians spout the American Diabetes Association eating plan which is designed to make you fail. The dieticians at my clinic have pretty much ignored advice from ADA and adapted their recommendations closer to that of low carb. The advantage, I guess, is that two of the group ...

Re: Back-up machine?

It took me a couple of years to getting around to buying a spare machine. I found one better than my original one, which is now my backup.

Once I got a spare I realized it gave me a lot of peace of mind.

Re: When people say "My travel machine ..."

When I say my travel machine, I mean my System One Series 50 machine that is fairly high miles and that the insurance company still technically owns. It is my backup machine now.

My primary machine is a System One Series 60 machine that I bought cheap on Craigslist.

Although...paradoxically...the program, as presented, seems like an awful lot of (misdirected) work.

POLL: "Lucid Dreams in 30 Days: The Creative Sleep Program"

I've been sorting through my bookcase for stuff to take to Goodwill and my eye fell on this slender volume by Keith Harary, Ph.D. (no university indicated) and Pamela Weintraub. I'm pretty sure I bought this book before I knew I had OSA and abandoned it because at the time I couldn't remember any of...

Re: Using CPAP in flight

The general problem with airlines about using at-seat power for medical devices is that at-seat power is usually provided by an under seat power unit that is shared across 2 to 4 seats. It is quite possible to overload the unit (which will cause it to shut down) if all the seat occupants decide the...

F4 tape is pricey but good for hoses. I keep a roll on hand for emergency repairs when traveling.

Re: How long does a typical APAP machine last?

I knew I shouldn't have messed with it. Now it won't start. No more sleep for me. This is why it's really an excellent idea to have a modest backup machine if finances permit before one's primary machine goes on the fritz. I didn't practice what I preach for years, but I sleep much better now knowi...
