Re: MedicAlert bracelets?
Outside the OSA, the only medical issue I have is allergies to Penicillin and its family of drugs. Since ER docs wouldn't use those unless they had no other choice these days, I might be ok without one for now. Personally, I wouldn't base this decision on the chances of them being used. I would bas...

Re: MedicAlert bracelets?
I've had a MedicAlert necklace since being diagnosed with diabetes and OSA in 1997. On the emblem I have key info, including mention of diabetes, contacts, OSA, and blood type. My PHR with MedicAlert includes my pressure settings, as well as emergency contact info, doctor info, medications, insuranc...

Re: Are you a multiple forum apnea support 'addict'?
When I started researching for a new machine last summer, I lurked on several sites. For whatever reason, sifting through the good, the bad, and the ugly for reliable information that met my needs was most easily found here. Because of that, this is the only one that I've created an account on. Now ...

Re: How often to replace Climateline?
Although I no longer use the ClimateLine since I switched to un-heated passover mode, I was hesitant to clean it any sooner than once a month. When I did, I let it sit in sink of water water than had some vinegar (1:30) and a few drops if blue Dawn mixed in. After 20 minutes, I ran luke warm water t...

Re: How many hours does your machine have?
My previous machine, a Nidek Silenzio, had over 30,000 hours on it when it died last November. That was 13 years of use on a device that had a 3 yr warranty. I got my money out of that machine.
The first S9 Autoset that I got was replaced when it had 455 hours. My current S9 has 540 hours.

Re: CPAP & Rosacea
I'd suggest that you keep a diary of things like changes in soap, any medications that you may take, time in the sun, extent of the redness, etc. After a while, this may allow you to spot a trend, possibly something you can then change. I've had varying degrees of red splotches that predate my CPAP ...

Re: The Daily Blowdown
... Not a bad night, still getting up groggy though. The biggest reasons that I've found for myself being groggy in the morning are 1) not getting at least 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep, and 2) an alarm clock waking me up from REM sleep. The latter seems to cause a fog that lasts for much of the d...

Ramp Settings for the S9: Home Menu - patient ramp time selection Setup (Clinician) Menu - max ramp time, start pressure That's it as far as ramp settings go. But... In CPAP mode EPR Inhale can be set to medium or fast. If you're using EPR and it's set to fast, that might be causing a fast ramp star...

Re: Data "Skew" on S9 Series
... Darn. They didn't even ask permission to use the video. ...There is a firmware bug in the S9... It looks like they pulled the video and the links. While I believe the problem is file fragmentation due to the file format of SD cards and not an assumed firmware bug, it really doesn't matter becau...

"OT" is used across many fora to indicate off topic posts. It's a common courtesy. Any attempt to call it anything else is simply an excuse to continue with non-courteous behavior.

Re: Ridiculous quotes and deeds by doctors and DMEs
When I needed a replacement machine, my new DME insisted that I had to rent first due to insurance, even though I'd been using CPAP successfully for 13 years. A quick call on my cell phone to the insurance company confirmed that not only did I not have to rent first, but even a newly diagnosed perso...

Re: ResScan 3.10 -> 3.14
. It's there in 3.12. I think I know what it is. There are two sets of pressure data in the S9 output, one in the PLD file, and one in the BRP file. The example graph must be showing the high rate one from the BRP file. Resscan shows the low rate one from the PLD file. I'll do some playing around s...

Re: ResScan 3.10 -> 3.14
Okay, it's #3 in my previous post. I was able to make another ResScan.xml change that allowed a subsequent download to result in a Pressure (High Rate) graph in addition to the usual Pressure graph, but I'm only part of the way there. It did not display the actual high resolution pressure data like ...
