S9 Humidifier light

Post by Wonderingwoman » Wed Mar 16, 2011 1:28 pm

Finally after months of wrangling and eventually firing my DME over giving me the s9 Escape in error, I got the S9 autoset yesterday. What I have noticed is the humidifier does not have the blue and orange light come on like the S9 Escape. Is there a setting, hookup or could it just be possibly be burned out. It is snapped together properly. I tried to search through the threads and could not find anything.

Thanks in advance.

I have the same humidifier.
Yours is probably defective, unless ResMed responded to complaints about the light. Not likely.
Warranty should cover it--I think ResMed machines have a 2 year warranty.

here is my post from a different thread.
I got a new S9 about 3 weeks ago. Everything was going fine until a week ago.
My family kept waking me up telling me the machine was squealing real loud and making weird noises.
Of course I woke up and the dang thing stopped. The next day
I noticed all my settings were gone and the card was blank.

I called my DME yesterday they did come out and exchange it the same day. So far working good and no problems. But we will see. I am not holding my breather after the last one.
Well I downloaded last nights data and even the pressure
was down and better the the old one. Now I am wondering if that was off to. I went from a 14.8 to
12. And the mask and set up were the same. Noting different.

The funny thing is the RT said that mine was the 3rd one they had to replace in a month.

Anyone hear anything about this? or had the same problem?
Now I am wondering what is going on.

No noises or anything, I think it is just the light that is defective. The warming plate does heat up. If anything else messes up I will look at returning it. I guess I can live without the light after everything I have been through in getting the right machine.

Thanks for all they replies! You guys are great

My S9 Autoset's H5i has the orange light when it's warming and the blue light when it isn't.

Make them replace it. It could be the beginning of other troubles down the road. Besides I think the lights are cool.

Make them replace it. It could be defective; or even - (dare I say it) - used.
You know you deserve a machine that works perfectly--more could be wrong with it than the light.

I'd disconnect the S9 AutoSet from the humidifier and then reconnect them making sure that they are completely connected. Mine has colors. I find them annoying as well as the LCD screen on the AutoSet, so I taped spare UNO playing cards over the humidifier window and the AutoSet's LCD screen making a flap so that I could still flip the card up and read my numbers off the LCD screen in the morning.

My humidifier light glows blue when you first turn on the machine. When the humidifier is warming up the light is orange. But after that there are no lights and even the screen goes dark after I hook up the mask. Is that normal?

Thanks

Yes. The idea is to have as few lights on during sleep as possible. There's just a tiny light on the power button so you can locate it.

If the lights in your screen and humidifier are staying on all the time while it's running something is wrong with your machine. The lights are suppose to go off within a minute or so after you power it up, or after pushing the button with the tiny green light to make it run or stop running.
