ResScan 3.12 Video Navigation Tutorial

Post by DreamDiver » Sun Feb 27, 2011 7:22 am

Not really sure how to get around in ResScan? I've created a video tutorial for ResScan 3.12. It should also be fairly useful at least as far back as 3.10.

Formal request to ResMed: Please make this change: Allow users to permanently set navigation pane height. Yes, sleep labs have very large screens, but I bet most DME offices are using screens smaller than mine, and I find it frustrating to have to reset the size on the navigation pane every time I use the software. In this tutorial, it's obvious to see what a nuisance it is to have to continually reset the pane height. Now imagine doing this several times a day at a DME's office?

Anyway, I hope the tutorial will be useful for some forum members.

Thanks so much for this video!! I have just begun to explore anything beyond the statistics page, so this is a terrific help. Is there some way it can have a permanently available link on the forum? It is so helpful!! You focused on reading graphic leak data on this. Can you do a video looking at the apnea depictions? ......(The little signs that say 30 or 33 or 10 etc. and the blue graphics associated with the actual apneas.)
Thanks so much. this is a service to all ResScan users, I think.

If it helps one person, I'm satisfied.
I will be doing a number of videos, including one on reading apneas.
That said, my data is a little unusual in that most of my apneas are centrals, according to the S9. It would be most helpful if some members could supply me with data from their SD cards that show more normal obstructive data, and maybe a few examples from people with unusual data. For those in-the-know, I could use examples of: mostly obstructives, mixed centrals and obstructives, complex sleep apnea, well-defined periodic breathing and extreme periodic breathing know as Cheynes-Stokes Respiration. If there are other unique items worth depicting in ResScan, I'd love to get examples of those too. I'll sanitize the data so that social information is munged. If there are enough people interested in supporting this, I could make a video showing how to backup the S9 SD card so forum members can email zipped data to me.

Awesome video dude! And I don't even have a Resmed machine!

Ironic, the one thing that makes me want to buy a resmed machine is the one thing they don't want me to have!!

I agree that this should be sticky'ed or at least posted in the "Where a newbie should start" thread. Or perhaps Cpaptalk.com can host the videos to save your server.

Great job!

Hi, about the screen size I click F11 and then can see the whole presentation. But to get out I need to click F11 again.
About If there are enough people interested in supporting this, I could make a video showing how to backup the S9 SD card so forum members can email zipped data to me, do you mean that I would email you my report or send you the zipped card?

Chris, I could email to you in a Gmail attachment a 2 weeks of daily graphs from ResScan 3.12. It's in PDF.
Will it work?

Thank you everyone.
PDF's and images will not be as useful as data from the SD card, so I'm currently making a video to help explain how to archive the SD card for emailing. I hope to have it finished in a day or two.

@Uncle_Bob,
I used Camtasia 3.0 - a fairly old version, on a fairly old computer.
