Re: Brand New Quattro AIR FFM + Help!

If using CPAP causes brain lesions then I'm in real trouble!!

I started CPAP in January 1999 - that's a lot of lesions, I imagine. (No wonder I've become a serial killer!! )

Re: PR System 1 filters popping out

Aha! So it's not just me finding the filters on the floor behind my nightstand! I found my last two pairs of filters on the floor recently. I didn't consider that a cough into the mask might have caused it; I don’t do that consciously but I certainly may be doing it while asleep or partly asleep. I ...

I believe Archangle was telling you to use the mask to practice on for disconnecting the hose.
Oh. If that's the case then I didn't realize it - guess I'm not that perceptive!

Thank you.

Re: Do I really need a local DME?

Well, I guess it really boils down to the same as doctors, parents, car mechanics, spouses: I you get a good one you're in! If not, you're SOL.

Mine really sucked. DME, that is.

Re: s9 auto set Will normal cpap script be good for the s9 ?

CPAP is synonymous with APAP as far as the Rx is concerned. As archangle mentioned this does not include BiPAP machines. LinkC, so "technically" doesn’t cut it? It most certainly IS an insurance issue! Legally they can fill a CPAP Rx with APAP. But they won't want to spend the money for APAP. If the...

Re: PR System One Humidifier Tubing Outlet Connection?

Thanks, but... I'm not having a problem at the mask; it's the connection at the humidifier. PR System One has a plastic swivel elbow on top of the humidifier that just doesn’t feel very substantial. Straight pulling doesn’t do it, and neither does twisting it. Like you said it has to be rocked back ...

Oh, I wouldn’t say "always"! Some bridges are better off burned.

PR System One Humidifier Tubing Outlet Connection?

I'm using a new PR System One 50 Series machine with heated humidifier. Every time I disconnect the tubing for cleaning I know I am close to breaking the doggone elbow where the tubing connects. It seems there should be a quick disconnect fitting there to allow an easier way to disconnect/reconnect ...

Technically a prescription that specifies "CPAP" allows an APAP to be supplied/purchased. Whether or not your insurance will allow it is another thing.

Re: Do I really need a local DME?

I don’t use a local DME - haven't for 10 more than years now - and all is fine here. I have insurance but I pay for all my equipment myself. My first three years on CPAP I used the DME mandated by insurance, and they were definitely not good "neighbors"! They gave me a machine that was off the marke...

Re: A Poll -- How compliant are you?

I have been virtually 100% compliant for 13 years now. "Virtually" because I have fallen asleep in an easy chair without a machine - actually I do that a couple times a week. Also, I read somewhere that you can/should back off when you have a sinus infection. Unfortunately I have chronic sinusitis, ...

Re: New Respironics AutoPAP Coming? Or Already Out?

Great - I received the email receipt a few minutes ago and almost immediately I received another email telling my that one of the items I ordered is on back order - the PR System One machine, naturally. Why send me an email on Friday listing a machine they didn't have in stock on Saturday morning? S...

Re: New Respironics AutoPAP Coming? Or Already Out?

Doggone! So I went ahead and purchased the Series 50 along with a new mask, filters, etc. And after I complete the purchase and try to close the page, a "Virtual Agent" chat box opens and offers me a discount on the Series 50! I typed in that I had just purchased it and it came back with "Oh, then s...

Re: New Respironics AutoPAP Coming? Or Already Out?

Thank you robysue! I really doubt that I would use the heated hose. I've read where some love it and some don’t. I haven't had any problem using heated humidifiers without heated hoses in 13 years of CPAP therapy, so I can do without. And if I ever decide that I do want one I can always get the thir...

Re: New Respironics AutoPAP Coming? Or Already Out?

Hmm, nothing refers to this machine as "Series 50" specifically that I can see. However I do see the newer Series 60 now at a higher price. I received an email from cpap.com yesterday (7/13) at 11:05 am with the subject of "Brand New Masks: The Amara and Pilairo". Down near the bottom of that messag...
